Uranium Steel (Alloying metals?)
« on: February 20, 2011, 03:44:08 pm »

Kinda new to modding here, sorry for the intrusion.

Made a small mod that puts steel and 6 pitchblende boulders in a smelter together. I'd imagine it to be a bit heavier than steel (or silver? I forgot.) but losing it's edge, so it's good for hammers.

Now for a question: How do I mod weapons so that they have some kind of effect on-hit with the enemy?
And, what other metals can be alloyed into one another?

Clearly now all we need added are dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you. Thus we can release them along with the dogs & bees themselves when unwelcome guests come to your fortress.

And then lock the door.

No hit effects in the game at all yet, hence we also cant mod them in.

As for alloying, there are no restrictions for what metals can be turned into what metals. You could make a reaction that takes a plump helmet, a sock and a limb to make any other random item.

I make Grimlocke's History & Realism Mods. Its got poleaxes, sturdy joints and bloomeries. Now compatible with DF Revised!

Or a reaction that makes an assault rifle out of a paper clip... and a shot gun.

I just realized two things. 1. For the Win and F___ the World have the same initials. 2. They have the same meaning in Dwarf Fortress.

Ironically, you could put in some such effects, to a limited extent, back in 40d by making weapons that did COLD, HEAT or BURN damage...
