Stargate: A forum strategy game
« on: February 20, 2011, 06:52:05 am »

You were called into a meeting with Colonel Duncan, it appears something is going on you should know about, you needed to sign a contract that you will not give away any information giving inside...it is the first meeting of a new team, after that known as the leaders of the stargate project.

Foreword:
So yes, this will be abit of complicated and if you dont understand something feel free to ask. I want to keep it as open as possible, you can research anything you like, make any missions you want as I think it lets alot of space for creativity.

Turn struture:
Each player can perform various actions a turn, this includes:
Sending out/Forming squads
Requesting units/more funds
Researching
Buying new equipment

Units:
Units are splitted into 3 types: Soldiers, Scientists and Others
All of them have different stats showing what they can do, there are however crossovers possible which means there can be a scientist with limited combat skill, this is counted as a proffesion, all proffesions will be listed as they appear, units gain proffesions with training or just by performing actions. So if you send said scientist on missions with soldiers hell be very likely to gain a proffesion in this area.
Stats are increased by training or performing tasks/missions.

The stats for the 3 types are:
Soldiers: Combat Efficiency, Stealth, Observation, Social
Scientists: Knowledge, Intelligence, Research
Others: Various

Stat examples:
Combat Efficiency: How good the unit can fight/defend himself against others
Stealth: How well a unit can stay undetected
Observation: How well a unit can observe and gain information.
Social: How good the unit can make contacts to other races/species/nations

Knowledge: The skill of unerstanding alien/unknown technology
Intelligence: The skill of inventing new stuff/ combining old with new.
Research: Gaining information about other nations.
Medic: Self explanatory, isnt it?

Unit examples:
Name:             Rank:                Type:        CE        ST      OB       SO     KN         IN       RE    ME          Profession:             Equipment:
Jack Woods     Private               Soldier         2         2        3          1      0             0        0     1           None                  P90
Sarah Ashasi   Scientist             Scientist      0          0        1         2      2             2        3      0          None                  None
Paul Miller       Base-Operator     Other          0           0        1         1      1            3         1      1         Base-Operator      None

If you want to create squads you can do this by posting it (Example: Create a squad named xx with unit xx, it will be a scouting squad so it would be good if others send some scout units in!, Player2 can then post: I send my unit xx to squad xx ).

Technologies:
You can start researching any technology you would like to have, I will only post the really basic ones (Spaceships, Advanced stargates or something the like).

Missions:
Basically you can perform any missions you like, if you scout planets you can gain information of the and possible find new useful stuff, a list of types would be:
Observate race(s) at planet xx
Research unknown technology retrieved from planet xx
Assist race xx with their fight against yy at planet zz

Items:
I will note down any kind of items, if it is weapons, unknown alien technology or anything the like. (You can equip available weapons to soldiers if you for example type: I equip soldier xx with a yy from the storage.) All players together have funs, out of those you can buy new equipment or request other stuff, the price list is only actual for usual stuff, if you want anything special (Vehicles or the like) you can request it it and ill tell you the price for it. In general anyone can buy anything they want but youll need teamplay.
