Now for the Swamp and Slime Pits. Come on. Does the idea of being able to dash for Zot if Dik-Dik gets boring not appeal? :P

What no don't do slime. Slime will kill you!  I mean, unless you feel like converting to jivya, but I mean, then Trog will kill you!

Ironically, he could probably survive Trog's wrath if he had an amulet of rage.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

The last level of slime is guaranteed death to melee characters, don't do it. The best way to clear slime is to be a jerkface conjurer and burst down the royal jelly with massive AoE damage to destroy the slimes it'll summon right after you hit it. I never cleared the last level of slime.

The Royal Jelly never regenerates, at least, so if you have a way to get the hell out of there, you can wear him down over the course of a few visits.

Digging a corridor and fighting him in there also works, I think.

If you like getting raped by the slime walls, that works great.

Given the choice between slime wall damage and damage from multiple high-level jellies at once, I'll take the slime walls.

Problem is, slime walls do quite a bit of damage, quite a bit.

He has two or three wands of digging. I'm not very well acquainted with the Slime Pits, other than that if you finish off the Royal Jelly, Jiyva is killed. Anybody mind explaining why you guys fear it so much?

I assume because it's really tough.

Also, Dik-dik is not an entirely melee based character, probably having more than competent skill in slings by now.

Not really. I mean, sure, it's a lot if you stand there in them, but so is damage from high-level slimes, and if you're down there without rAcid+ you probably deserve to die.

Good luck killing TRJ with slings.

I vote we skip the slimes. Lets do the swamp and then head for the vaults.

Next update will be posted tomorrow. Most of you guys told me to skip the Slime Pits, so after the Swamp I'll continue going through the dungeon.

Ironically, he could probably survive Trog's wrath if he had an amulet of rage.

I have an amulet of rage, but I forgot to show it. The amulet wouldn't help much against Trog's wrath. He sends in several hostile berserkers (same monster set as BiA) to surround you. I don't think my squishy kobold would survive more than 2 turns in that situation. I've survived Trog's wrath a few times before. It usually involved using semi-controlled blinks or a tomb card.
