Before heading to Zot I stocked up on supplies and learned Demonic Horde, which summons a lot of minor demons. It's basically an upgraded Summon Butterflies. I'm carrying so much stuff that I need to remain constantly flying in order to move.
The Realm of Zot is 5 levels deep and is filled with unique and powerful monsters that you won't find anywhere else. The main threat is elemental damage. Almost everything in this place does elemental damage, so you'll want decent resistances before coming here. I recommend having at least rF++ and rElec, though you can win with only fire resistance.
We quickly encounter the main enemies of this place - draconians. Draconians can be zealots (combo of a high priest and necromancer), shifters (warper), knights (reaver), annihilators (weaker than the elven version), scorchers (fire elementalist), callers (summoner; really annoying), or monks (monk, duh!), each with their own set of spells and abilities. All draconians come in different colors and have breath attacks that corresponds with their color. They also travel in groups.
Plain draconians have very low MR and can't see invisible, so you can easily stab them to death.
Another weakness that draconians have is that they're cold-blooded. They have a chance of being slowed by freezing attacks. Obviously, my Ice Fiend has no problem killing them.
Ghost moths are a new annoyance added to 0.8. They're fast, invisible, poison-resistant moths, which gaze at you to drain MP and stat-drains you with their melee attacks.
We're being stalked by a death cob... Wait, what?
A dreadful undead cob of maize. Look, this one was probably a mistake. We're sorry.
We found an artifact here! I rarely ever find anything good in Zot. I'm not gonna carry it around, so I gave it to Nemelex.
This is why you want to kill moths of wrath. Thankfully, it's
just an ice dragon that went berserk.
This place has a lot of traps, but it's still not as bad as the Tomb.
Here we are on the final level of Zot. The Orb is located in the smallest room in the Orb chamber (bottom of the level), which is heavily guarded.
Electric golems are one of the most dangerous monsters in this place. They can shoot bolts of lightning and blink around constantly. They're also faster than us and hit like a truck. You'll want rElec if you plan on fighting them. If you don't have rElec, then you should run.
Very fast.
I summoned and hasted two bone dragons, which is more than enough to handle two electric golems.
Orb guardians are like stone giants, except they're faster than us. I'm relying on my sling to kill everything. It should be noted that my bullets are practically indestructible at this point.
Demonic Horde is great for distractions. My hasted bone dragon killed several enemies, while my imps were harassing them. I received a legendary deck of dungeons, so I'll be leaving this place for now.

I finally found cure mutation potions. Nice loot for such an easy place.
I drew another Trowel card, which created a portal to a treasure trove.
For a price, you get some loot! Tailored for your character (using acquirement code). It asked for more than half of my stack of healing potions. I hope it's worth it.
