Embark eggs?

Do eggs you bring with you on embark hatch if they are uneaten?

No.  It seems like eggs only hatch if they are inside a nest box.

Since you currently cannot place an egg into an egg-box, it is thus impossible to hatch any egg that was not naturally lain.  This is very sad, and will hopefully be rectified in future releases.
