Actually anyone NOT working should be guarding the fort.

But the cost benefit ratio for guarding the fort is so low when the zombie activity hasn't started up yet, you should have at most 1 person guarding and possibly none.

Yup. I think we can send both scavenger scavenging the warehouse and office. Any soldiers not active should be send killing zombies in the appartment block.

Depends on the danger ratio of the apartment block. In any case, I would like to be sent scouting again. Oh, and do scout towards a single direction. Going to the edge of the town and expanding from there helps a lot o.o

Wow, I just tried it 4 time on nightmare setting, and always got slaughtered. I don't think you can succeed if you don't have a great starting position.

Any other ways of winning apart from drafting a constitution and curing zombism? (And I assume conquering the town)

There's an Evil Graveyard somewhere, That may give you a win if you clear it. Took me several days of sending 10-ish soldiers in, though.

The Four victory conditions
-Draft a Constitution (the easiest)
-Cure Zombieism
-Defeat the Portal (The hardest as it requires 14 Soldiers and a LOT of days)
-Take every location on the map

Ahh, so the evil graveyard is where the undead are actually coming from? That sounds like the "best" ending. :)

Do regular graveyards spawn undead at an increased rate?

Captain has been ordered to stop guarding the fort.
Nurse Perry has been ordered to guard the fort.
Antonie Anderson has been ordered to scavenge the Warehouse.
Carter Williams has been ordered to scavenge the Office.
May Northway has been ordered to scout the Northern Suburb.

DAY 3

We met a survivor who came south of the city. He agreed to come back with us and join the fort. (+1 Survivor) -Urist

I did what we could to clear the undead out of the Park. (-1 Zombie) -"Coach" Diaz

I scouted the Suburb and were suprised to find people living there. They were aggro so I left them alone, but they're probably just as scared as everybody else. -May Northway

We have 30 Defence, and 19 Zombies in the vicinity, giving us a 5% Danger.

Leaders (Bonus in Persuasion missions)

Urist

Scavengers (Bonus in Scavenging missions)

Antonie Anderson (Scavenging)
Carter Williams (Scavenging)

Soldiers (Bonus in Killing missions and backup)

Captain
"Coach" Diaz
Lance Parker

Builders (Bonus in Building and Reclaiming missions)

Carrie Murray

Scientists (Bonus in Research missions)

Nurse Perry (Guarding the fort)

Survivors (Can be taught at schools or on missions)

Colin Bell
May Northway
Alan Mark (RIP, Died Scouting at the Suburbs)

We have space for 2 more survivors.
There is a survivor in the XXOR Gas next to the Police Station.
There are survivors in the eastern Suburbs.

We have 1 farm, which produces 4 food per day.
We are losing 6 food per day.
There is some food in both XXORs next to our fort, the Apartments netx to our fort and the Motel next to our fort.
There is lots of food in the Warehouse and the Office.

The scavenging will last a while longer.  Have Urist recruit the survivor from the apartment and reclaim that trailer park.

In any case, get rid of the nurse and put her for scouting for now. 25 Def from the police station is more than enough to handle 19 zombies. It shouldn't be over 10%. If it is though, keep her there :P. Losing an area this early is pretty much game over, and I'd like our new civilization to outlast the *other* Boatmurdered at least, xD

I say start by reclaiming the park. Since we need two builders for that, Murray and a survivor should go- to train. That should take three days with a danger of 0.

Next, I'd like to go scouting again, towards either the east or the west. I usually prefer the west, but by screenshot alone from the first post seems to show that the east holds better option for now.

And  I suggest that our other soldiers should be sent to rout the zombies from the motel over there, depending on the danger. If it's troubling+, send all three, if lower, preferably just two. Also, Urist should go recruit the survivors in the suburb, with a guard if danger >10%. If not, send all three guards into the motel, or two, in case you want to be really sure from zombie attacks.

And the others to scouting!

Those are my suggestions- :P
