Question about Stonesense

I looked around and only saw one thread on installing Stonesense. Am I confused as to how to install it? I have the correct version of Dwarf Fortress, and I run dwarf fortress and loaded up a game and then loaded up Stonesense.exe. All it says is "Connecting to DF" for ages. It took me about 10 to 15 minutes to create a world so I'm going to say that my laptop isn't the fastest laptop out there, but should I be waiting a while for Stonesense to load?

Stonesense isn't updated to run on the latest version.

I downloaded 3.16 for it and still the same thing.

Nevermind! It seems 3.14 works fine with it but 3.16 didn't for me. Strange!
