more graphics?

im sorry if this is a stupid question but i would like to know, is it possible to set which graphic a specific tile and if so how
i would like to make a tileset but it would be nice to have different images for things like bins and staircases please let me know.

I'm not sure if this is actually what you are asking about... but I just finished the first version of Tile Genie that lets you pick and choose tiles from multiple graphic sets.

thats not what i meant but thanks anyway what i did mean was a way to individualise tiles so instead of e being elf elephant etc they would have their own sprites

This is definitely possible because each creature has its own tileset rather than using the generic tile for a letter.

That said, I don't know how graphics work, so I can't help you.

That shows a bunch of tilesets people have produced.

Deon's Genesis mod has a graphical versions, using two of the tilesets from that page.  I highly recommend it.

EDIT: The Ironhand graphics set is an example.  As of this posting it's right below this thread on the list ;)

you misunderstand me if not looking for a tileset im looking for a way to stop different tiles from sharing sprites
for example colon (:) is used for wild strawberry, prickle berry, fisher berry, sun berry, snowstorms, underground shrubs
i want a to know if theres a way to make them all have their own individual sprites

That is impossible.

Right now, we only have control over things with raws.

We can change what tile minerals and vermin use,
and we can specify graphical sprites for animals and people.
And we can make our own tiles for different groups of objects.

But a bin and a staircase and the cursor ALWAYS use the same tile.

Graphics sets like the one used in Deon's mode DO differentiate between, say, elves and elephants.

For civilized creatures, each profession can have it's own tile.  So a dwarf fisherman could look different than a dwarf fish cleaner, and both would look different than elf fishermen and elf fish cleaners.

For animals, it's on a per creature basis.  So Elephants can look different than Elk, but a female Elephant can't look
different from a male Elephant.

EDIT:  Sorry, just saw the bit about berries etc.  As Ironhand said, different berries can't have different tiles.

Complete graphics support is a fairly high-priority goal, though.
