Didn't Borderlands already DO borderlands with zombies?

Yes, but that was zombie halloween and has a focus almost exclusively on guns.

While this will have a focus on melee weapons (and I bet later you get enough guns to stick with guns)

Edited the OP with a gameplay vid and the list of people interested in joining in for the four pack.

I'm getting it because it looks cool and a bit different from borderlands to be honest. I for one, don't see zombies popping out six weapons on death :P

What? He's firing from the hip.

So its nearing release and was wondering who else still had any intent on buying this ?

The original trailor gripped me when I first saw it months ago

the gameplay vids I have seen look like its a fair amount of fun certainly for the crazed lunatic in me.

Im just not 100% on the price, these days £30 seems steep even for AAA.

Also +1 for the music in the trailors, its not often with trailors you have such a moving piece, its normally crappy h.metal.

Hm... I gotta say, I like the look, but it seems like it'l just be a reskinned Dead Rising (I hated Dead Rising 2) or a L4D ripoff with less guns.

I'm getting it. Watched the long trailer and seeing a crafting system and D&D styled namings of weapons was enough to cement it for me. And the fact that you can actually see the character's body was another one of those small things that pushed me over the fence.

I was hoping to get this on release, but it looks like I'll have to wait awhile. Between Deus Ex and Disgaea 4, both my time and money are spoken for at the moment.

I'm uncertain. The original trailer all but had me sold, as did the initial news that implied realistic, melee-heavy combat.

Now gameplay trailers are showing lots of guns and throwing electrified machetes to impale special zombies that look horribly mutated, a la L4D.

I feel ripped off by the change in focus :(

If I do get it, it'll be heavily discounted. It's no longer a must-have for me.

Yeah I thought it was gonna be survival, fending off hordes of undead and trying to stake out a safehouse and scavenging for items.  But they made it so that you'll be fighting a zombie at a time and pulling off EXTREME combos on them with your TACTICOOL weapons.  So yeah, pass.

as far as I can tell from the vids etc you "could" do all of this ?

May get flamed for this answer though lol

Workarounds are :-
>dont use the wepons that fall under your "tacticool" catigory.
>its sandbox so find you hide out and stay there (IMO staying in one location is the worst tactic in this case as the aim is to escape ?)
>Scavange is already in and I take it as part of how you gather Energy drinks and items and health etc.

The part about fighting one zombie at a time is not somthing I see, What im seeing is the players in these only allowing one zombie to get to them at a time whic is the best tactical thing to do ( if such a scenario ever was to happen )

I intend to play the game as I would any other sandox by exploring and adding some roleplay elements myself, my issue is the number of quests etc as this seems to be lacking.

Also not much mention on modding either, which if its in then the game can be really opened up.

My problem would have to be the quests as well, I hope there aren't just a handful of scripted quests and that's that. Honestly I would go for more of a stalker clear sky (hear me out hear me out) OPEN ended unscripted randomized quest thing. EX: Zombie horde is heading towards out post alpha, they should arrive in five to ten minutes.

You could hightail it over there and offer support, or ignore it and hope that the defenses you placed and the npcs that are there can fend them off. If you DO go and help, you get an arbitrary exp point count, or factional rep etc. But as I am unsure as to whether or not factions are even implemented, maybe I am just talking fluff.

Regardless, my wife and I will be playing it coop, everything is always better when done cooperatively!

I saw the trailer ( on the Tobuscus Youtube channel ) and the graphics and everything looked awesome.  I want actual players of the game, when it's released, to post in this thread about the actual gameplay and if it was fun or not.  We need that sort of input before the more skeptical and reluctant of us spend our money.
