It's tiding me over until Skyrim.  Between this, Dungeons of Dredmor, Cataclysm, and batting off, I think I've filled my schedule until 11-11-11.

In my opinion the problem with the weapons system is that yes, sharp weapons shouldn't bust apart quite as fast as they do, but they should get dull and weak really fast.  What you shouldn't be able to do is repair everything, at least to full repair, maybe halfway hardness so each time you repair it it gets weaker and weaker.

Thus invalidating the whole upgrade system.  Why bother upgrading or modding an item when it's only going to get less and less useful?
Perhaps upgrading would prolong that event?  Frankly the whole upgrade system makes minimal sense to me, when there is also the create system.  Maybe upgrading would deteriorate before the base hardness, so you upgrade something, then next time you repair it the weapon goes back to full repair but loses points towards the upgrade.  say you repair an item for 75% and the an upgrade level gets removed.

So...you then have to upgrade it again and end up back where you started?  Why not just let us repair it to full?

Also, upgrades and mods don't do the same thing.  Upgrades raise the "base" values of the weapon, mods do Elemental Damage.

Just killed my first thug, was repairing my weapons when someone dropped in.  Game unpaused, zombie attacked me while I was using the table, killed me, guy drops out.

Maximum trolling.

Thugs are tougher in multiplayer (and not worth it to even fight on that mode) then in Singleplayer.

Really? I've never had much trouble with thugs in co-op. Usually one dude kites and the other can attack from behind. Easy as pie.

The thug was already dead, I was at a repair bench so the game was paused.  A guy dropped in, the game unpaused, and while I was at the bench a zombie I missed came up behind me and killed me, then the guy left.

Know what you lost?  Like $100.

Sometimes the best strategy is just to farm items and money.

I have yet to fight a thug in hand-to-hand.  As the knife thrower dood, I just fury one or use a propane tank if available.

Took this earlier, make me laugh.  Propane tanked a thug and this is what was left:

I fought it as the thrower guy, but I think I'll switch to the blunt weapons guy.  I took it in melee, running around and breaking its arms with a big lead pipe.

Thugs are pretty easy if you can get them alone. Targeting their arms with literally any weapon will eventually cripple or break them. Then it's as easy as ducking into range and smacking them in the legs do stun them and then hitting them in the face before backing off. Then just repeat till their head goes splat or comes off. I imagine guns make them a joke.

The game definitely has some flaws.  The speed at which weapons degrade is pretty ridiculous, and I'm not sure dropping the realistic survival game they originally were going with for Borderlands with Zombies was a good idea, but it's still a great game.  FIghting zombies is lots of fun and the atmosphere is good as long as you pretend you're not wielding a +1 Sinister Machete or whatever nonsense.

So yeah, one massive flaw?

My friend got this today. It say's on the back of the box that you can co-op 2-4 players. It say's this right next to system link and then tells you that online, you can co-op.

So we think "cool! Co-op offli-" NOPE, you need two xbox's and two copy's of the game and two tv's and a link cable. Utter fail right there. They shouldn't have put co-op on the box if you can't co-op offline

(to anyone unfamiliar with xbox cases, it has two things it shows you on the back. if its in orange writing? You can only do it over xbox live. If its in green writing you can do it offline. Co-op was in green. Fail)

Offline co-op is shown as Co-op in orange on the back of the box.

Online Coop is shown in green.

I understand though, we probably threw away $30 at least back in the day making that mistake when renting 360 games.
