Some of the music themes are quite good. For example the hotel theme if you walk to the hotel.

For some reason the XBox and PS3 versions have much lower metacritic scores than the PC version. Anyone know why that is?

Because Xbox360 and PS3 have been flooded with these types of games.

As well the controls are clunkier on them compared that you REALLY are required to get pretty percise with some of your attacks.

I dunno if it's a bug or what but it's really, really unnerving to be exploring an underground toilet and SUDDENLY CREEPY MUSIC
Intended. I guess it's the subterrain theme.
And perhaps i'm just a hardened bastard, but this ain't the least creepy/scary and the moaning is just a good indicator if the zombie is going to get up again or not. Hear moaning? hit it. It stopped? loot and continue.
Npc interaction sucks. When you talk to them they just continue their idle animation but have their mouth moving.
The combat and gameplay that does not involve items or NPCs is okay, but the game could have been a lot better.
oh yeah... I like how I can break a crowbar by bashing a few heads in. (ps. note the sarcasm)

I have unlocked Dead Island and have played maybe 3 hours, and am thoroughly enjoying it. I had only 1 bug, and that was having trouble walking up a set of steps. Nothing gamebreaking.

Unfortunately I am too tired and must retired to bed, but I look forward to playing more on my day off tomorrow.

It feels like Farcry 2 with zombies.

I laughed so hard last night when I threw a wrench at a zombie coming down the steps and me and he fell and mangled down the stairs.

Also, killing zombies in swimming pools looks VERY cool.  The blood clouds the water in a nice way.

Is there PS3 and PC crossover for the multiplayer aspects? or not? I have 1 friend with this on ps3, but I wouldn't mind getting a steam 4pack for the rest of my friends if we could all play together.

I'm like 99% sure theres not.  I wish that would have taken off.  The only game I remember even doing that was Shadowrun, and that game was meh.

So apparently a programmer left one of the skills in the code that was named "feministwhore". It related to the skill gender wars or something (i don't get to play it till sunday, so forgive me if i'm wrong) where you can kill male zombies more easily or something?

Either way, the escapist is in an uproar about it. Its kind of funny to see everyone pent up about something that you shouldn't be able to see unless you're doing something you shouldn't be with the game *waggles finger*

Why shouldn't you be examining the code of a game that you own?

Aside from the name, that sounds exactly like the Black Widow perk from Fallout 3. I don't remember any uproar over that.

Okay, I have exactly one problem with the game: the mouse sensitivity.  In the menu, the mouse controls are RIDICULOUSLY sluggish.  I have to pick up my mouse and move it to the other end of the pad several times to get to the inventory.  So I up the sensitivity!  Then as soon as the gameplay begins (or resumes), the slightest movement of the mouse sends my character (the firearms lady) spinning like a ballerina.  Fortunately I have a mouse with on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment, so in the menu I crank it up to the top, and then put it all the way to the bottom to actually play.  It's a huge pain in the butt, and it kills immersion.  Also, I may just be terrible at the game, but I have never successfully removed a limb from a zombie.

Yeah I noticed this too, it is pretty annoying.  I just hope they fix it with a patch or something.

You know what, imma delete that as if you reply it'll go into an argument. So, i'll leave it at this.

I DISAGREE WITH YOU. With a capital DISAGREE. Because in all likelyhood, i probably would.
