War game with a twist Discussion thread.
« on: February 18, 2011, 07:33:45 pm »

this is a war game in the vein of the zombie master forum.

the twist?

You users create the game.

settings and races. The only way to play is if you create your own race and pick a location... as soon as we create locations.

So, first things first.

GAMEPLAY RULES-
each race wars on each other.
you have a list of units, including health, attack, defense, cost, and special abilities.
Each unit you create must have a point value that reflects it's power.
Rest of rules are under debate.

The creation process will be split up into ages.

1- THE AGE OF CREATION
Here we will create the area we play in. be it a small continent, a planet, or a series of planets.

2- THE AGE OF REFINING
3 steps.

  1- epoc of defenition
we split the area into territiories.

  2- epoc of naming
we name all of our creations, including this game.

  3- epoc of smoothing
tweaks of the world, physics, time period, etc.

3- THE AGE OF STRIFE
Playtime.

Hm.

I... didn't think of that.

well, what about a basic format. should we do large, medium, or small map?

after, should we do a series of planets, a planet, a continent, or a part of a continent?

Small, portion of a continent. Take a section of land from a real-world map and use that.

I vote Austrailia as the secontion of land from the real-world map we use, it's small for a continent, it's closed off via water, and navies have atleast some use.

I was thinking something a bit smaller. Possibly a section of Australia.

Far too large.  I agree, Australia is a good point to use.  Perhaps take a New Zealand sized chunk out of it?

Yes. Or perhaps we could just take New Zealand.

Oh, you and your logic.  NZ seems a bit small by typical fantasy over sizing proportions, but I suppose it'll do.
