Nirur: "Mercenary work? Could you describe that?"
Recruiter: "Sure, it's pretty simple. You accept a job, say, get us however many of a kind of animal, then we give you some cubes. You capture the animals, then bring 'em back, then you get paid. There's also some other work, but those go to dedicated agents, you know, guys at the top."
One of the apes behind him starts punching the ape beside it, and soon they're flinging wads of paper all around at each other.
Recruiter: "Sorry kid, gotta take care of this."
He pulls down a barrier from the top of the booth, sealing it. A tiny sign reads CLOSED.

The lobster pushes the bear off, and strikes with its hammer claws! the bear blocks with claws of its own, which shatter on impact! The glass shards lacerate the lobster's carapace!
The turtle circles back behind the bear, who is too preoccupied with the lobster to notice! It rears up, driving its front legs down onto the bear's back with all its weight! The bear cracks in two, its front end roaring in anger before being recalled!
Wallace goes after Fain, who heads toward the protection of the zeppelin! It fires, hitting the ground around Wallace's feet! After the barrage, it dips low enough to allow Fain to jump on!

Kaguro, Furtuka, and Nat inspect the nest for valuables. The birds seemed to collect a fair amount of junk, as almost the entire nest is built out of scrap chips. Among them, they find a single Upgrade Chip.

Nat decides to get back to town, and finds a battle between two adventurers in front of the Dojo.
On closer inspection, she recognizes Ken and Wallace's Objecticon. The guy in the fedora must be Wallace, then.

The group is in Burance. Furtuka, Nat, and Kaguro are at the edge of Burance.

I head towards the dojo looking for my companions. I'll tell Nat about the mercenary job when I see her, and watch the fight.

With only two enemies left, Wallace's Objecticon close in.
The lobser is entirely too short to reach the flying zeppelin, but the turtle's lightning strikes it in the side! small gouts of flame erups from some of the gun emplacements, but it is otherwise uninjured.
Fain attacks from atop the zeppelin, raining down lightning on the turtle! Unable to negate the entire attack due to its cracked shell, it takes damage!

Nat observes the fight. Wallace seems to be doing alright, much better than he should be when facing twice his own firepower, but wonders how she could step in without revealing Mr. Fedora as Wallace if she had to.

Nirur heads down to the dojo, and spots Nat watching a battle. He heads over and explains what the Excon recruiter told him about the job. Turning his attention to the fight, he recognizes Ken and his rodent. Facing him is Wallace in a large robe and hat, his face obscured. There are a few others watching, most of them look to be studentsat the dojo.

Kaguro follows Nat back to the dojo, the fight catching his attention. Ken and Wallace are battling in what appears to be a 2-on-2 fight, and Ken is using his rodent. The blimp is new, and he wonders what kind of object Ken used to create it.

Furtuka goes back to the town's center, and enters the shop to pawn off the chips. They aren't worth as much as the scrap chips, at only 5M each. Still, that gets 40 monie.

The group is in Burance.

Get the lobster to chase Ken. Turtle is to keep trying to shoot down the blimp AKA Ken's mother.
