Challenge someone who looks like a decent challenge to a fight, to prepare for the boss fight.

The old man is still in his chair, pretty much exactly the same way you left him.
Wallace: "Hey, we got your belt back from that guy."
Methuselah: "Great. I suppose you want a reward for vanquishing the dreaded dirt path? Maybe a medal for the champions?"
Nirur takes a "heroic" stance, and speaks in a deeper voice. The effect is, of course, fuined by his thirteen-year-old vocal cords.
Nirur: "No need, it is an adventurer's duty to hope those in need!"
Methuselah and Wallace just glare as him.

Methuselah: "Tell you what, I'll just give you these if you cut the heroic speech."
He holds out five tickets, with "Joe's Hog Shop" stamped across the front.

Nat approaches a fat man attempting squat thrusts.
Nat: "Excuse me sir, is the Boss here?"
Fat Dojoist: "*Pant* You mean Solid? He's right over there, overseeing our training. *Pant* Such a grand figure!"
The fat points over to the back wall, where you see a thin man in a pink... Bathrobe? You're not sure, but he doesn't look very threatening.
Fat Dojoist: "Do you want training? There are sign-up sheets right at the entrance."
He goes back to his training, now a futile bid to touch his toes.

Kaguro decides he needs more experience before battling his first Boss, so he decides to challange one of the... Students? Yeah, they look like students.
He spots some average looking, a lanky teenager with a belt punching a pink felt dummy. Actually, you notice a lot of the equipment around here is pink.
Kaguro: "Hey, you want to have a battle?"
Lanky Teen: "Huh? Oh, sure! This dummy was getting boring anyway."
He draws his objecticon, a pair of boxing gloves. They look to be made of wood.

Furtuka and Ken begin a conversation.
Furtuka: "Hey, you here for the Boss?"
Ken "Yeah, I was heading over there right now actually. What about you?"
Furtuka: "Nat and Kaguro are over there, I'm just kind of looking at the town. So, how goes adventuring so far?"
Ken: "Pretty good, I snagged a couple more Objecticon on the way here. Fought a couple other adventurers, and this old guy."
He looks embarassed for a moment. "I got totally trashed, his Objecticon were completely top-tier, was out of a beginner's league."
Furtuka: "Actually, I think we met him. Wallace and Nirur were going to finish a quest for him."
Ken: "Huh, that's pretty interesting. Well, I'm gonna go now, see ya."
Ken goes off in the direction of the Fight Club.

Wallace and Nirur are at Methuselah's house.
Nat, Kaguro, and Furtuka are in Burance.

Deciding that Kaguro has the right idea, I look for someone who is interested in a fight and challenge them.

Wallace and Nirur pocket the tickets and head on their way.
Nirur keeps on the lookout for other adventurers, but before spotting any his attention is taken by the path ahead.
Making its way towards them is a huge tree, which has a faint green glow about it. It's trunk is etched with strange patterns, and it's leaves have the shape of Objecticon chips.

Furtuka heads off to the shop, pulling out his book on the way.

So it seems that only some equipment is penalized, interesting.

Furtuka enters the shop, and is greeted by the Cashier.

Kaguro draws his spear, and the pair circle each other. People back away slightly, but don't stop their training.
The boxer gets in the first hit, a jab to the ribs! Kaguro counters with a jab of his own, but the boxer blocks with his wooden gloves!
Attacking again, the boxer smashes Kaguro with a powerful uppercut! Kaguro is knocked off balance!

Nat begins looking for an opponent of her own, and approaches a slightly older girl doing pushups. She doesn't have any visible belt of bracer, but instead a choker around her neck.
Nat: "Excuse me, I'm looking for an opponent."
Choker "Girl: Yeah? Well, I could go for some action."
She releases her Objecticon, a worm made out of what looks like rusted iron.

Wallace and Nirur are near Burance. Danger: Moderate.
Nat, Kaguro, and Furtuka are in Burance.

Science demands that I grab a handful of leaves. Common sense indicates that pulling leaves off of a moving tree is unwise (but not evil. Trees don't have feelings). I let Sudsy out to grab a few leaves and return them to me, then run away towards town and examine the leaves.
