Getting rid of Aquifers
« on: February 17, 2011, 12:14:09 pm »

I tried getting rid of all appearences of [AQUIFER] from the raws, and it doesn't get rid of aquifers in 31.19. What am I doing wrong?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Which raws did you change?  Did you try to remove aquifers in an already running fort?  If so that does not work, you need to re-generate the world and re-embark with aquifers disabled.

Try searching soil layers, or just check all layers.

0.31.21 I changed all the raws with "stone" in the title. I used the "Find and replace" function and left the "replace with" box empty. Worked like a charm.

You forgot inorganic_stone_soil, which is a big mistake since soil is where most aquifers spawn in.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

I use Notepad++ which can search all files in a folder and replace anything on the fly. I gen a world, run it on the entire save-folder and subfolders to replace [AQUIFER] with nothing and ZAP, it's gone. Works every time, but not on current forts.
