I am kinda meh on Cyanide as a whole (having done only one game anyones ever heard of and that being a bit of a buggy mess). But I guess this is their chance to show what they can do.

*shrug* Not saying it's wrong per se. After all, LOTR RTS was basically a Warcraft 3 clone and allegedly was pretty decent. Still, I dont find it too appealing (but that's more because of my gaming tastes than of zomg it's a clone so it sucks). And I don't think it too worthwhile to make a game of a novel or a film by taking another game and basically just adding flavor names and graphics. Might as well stick with the original for that.

I love A Song of Fire and Ice, I've read book up till the current one, I really hope this doesn't become some sort of Total War clone. 

If you do get this, and if the factions in my mind are correct, what house would you like to play as?

For me, the Lannisters. 

Then again, in gameplay terms, I'm not sure how that would affect me, I'm just choosing my favorite in-story noble house.

I want to hear more about it, too. It looks ... well, it looks like it could be good or bad. The features sound interesting enough, but this is the type of game that has to be done very well to be at all fun to play.

The Bay 12 reviews are the only ones I care about, but I'll see what the Steam forums have to say about it while I wait.

This doesn't look like your generic RTS at all - In what RTS do you get closer to winning by having "more loyal landlords" and doing sidequests?

Still, that doesn't mean it'll be good, but at least the concept sounds great.

So far people have been saying there's a big learning curve, and there's a let's play on youtube. You might want to check out the Steam forums.

Hmm what I have seen around the net people think it has bombed quite badly, and I have seen a few play throughs, I'm sitting on the fence to right now till I see atleast 2 reviews and the price goes down, from what I have seen the game is not worth £30 of my hard earned cash

Not sure I'll buy though, I don't like the Tages DRM it comes with. Hopefully someone else here with more money than I (wouldn't be hard, haha) will take an interest in it and let us know what they think.

I bought it yesterday and have played it for a wee while.

My advice is to skip this one, it's pretty bad.

The gameplay is basicaly centred around capturing resource nodes, killing the units that can capture your resource nodes, and defending your own ones.

I'll try my best to answer questions, but I haven't played much more than a couple of hours tbh
