clay scarcity

Am I correct in assuming that clay is like sand in that if you have one tile of it you can support your industry forever?

Because that's a little lame, really. I wish clay and sand on a tile were like water with 7/7, 6/7 etc and could be depleted.

I'm not complaining.

If you've got one pile of sand, then you've probaly got enough tiles of it to fuel a glass indrustry even with depleting sand.

This is planned to be changed. Probably not in the way you suggest, but it's up there. Probably soon since he seems to be working on all that right now anyways.

there is an image of the goblin Utes Gozrusrozsnus and dwarves in elf bone. The goblin is making a plaintive gesture. the dwarves are striking a menacing pose.
this image relates to the slaying of Utes Gozrusroz

The best way for them to fix this would be to make clay have a certain amount of uses, then it digs a channel. This way we could also do the same for clay/sand walls. In fact, someone should put this on the suggestions forum...

Then you'll find that your dining hall is suddenly outside, or your plumbing forcefully re-routed, or something.  Rather than a channel, it should be something inert like becoming stone or dirt, or "hard packed" clay that needed time to re-accumulate.  I'm personally loving clay, my tower is being built from it!

Also though, after ~1500 clay gathered from a 21x21 zone, using 3 kilns on Gather Clay /R, I started getting spam on "Could not gather clay, clay disappeared" or something along those lines.  Still clay there, but my harvest rate went down fast.

Porcelain is made from that in real life.  There was a really, really long discussion of it on the suggestions forum when they were talking about ceramics that contains more information than most people will ever care about.

You could have berries on the rocks and the dwarves would say it was "berry gneiss."
You should die horribly for this. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

When dwarves dig the clay out, more just slides in sideways. '_'
