Make a sky entrance for the eagle and lay down weapon traps in long corridors for the invaders to path through to get to the eagle.

So yeah, none of the unusual stuff discussed here involving eggs will work, because eggs seem to only be composed of one base material. The others don't physically exist until they're extracted via a job. Back to square one on that front.

If there's ever a syndrome that makes people turn to stone, we can recreate the stone grenades from Nethack...

Combined with DF's organ system, why not skip the eggs and just have gloved adventurers smacking people around with cockatrice heads?  Throwing eggs in Nethack was fun until the darn things hatched.  :D

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
..Anyone up for Zombie omelette?

I wasn't going to keep the site originally, as I embarked without selecting jobs by mistake, but now I think I'll stay here anyway. For SCIENCE!

She's sitting on the nest! Maybe I will get zombie eggs. :D

edit: Aaw, all I got was regular turkey eggs. They are now forbidden and awaits hatching, though.

Hmm... reactions now allow you to put objects inside containers, and you can specify creature mats... Somebody's gotta try this...

ya the problem is that a nest box isn't a container.... it's a building.   If it was a container it'd work well though.

From the looks of it, dragons also have the new egg tags so I don't see why not. I guess the eggs still won't hatch without modding, though. Of course, it'd be insanely profitable adorable if they did.

I started this new build as a human civ, starting on a grassland with ample clay. i decided to do a farming/pottery community, so i brought along cows, sheep and lots of chickens, maybe 20. after a while i decide to get fancy and prepare to build brick houses, digging down in search of magma to fuel this operation i struck a cavern. immediately a large horde of crundles ran through the gap, up 30zl and into the henhouse, killing every chook inside and filling the nestboxes with crundle eggs.

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...
It should be pretty fun though.

They were all underage crundles, trying to hide their eggs from their parents as best they could.

Since even sentient eggs can hatch, dragon eggs probably will as well.
