The Digital War
« on: February 16, 2011, 10:56:45 pm »

Welcome, Whoever you are, to Virtua. These are, as you likely know, rather tense times. Rogue experts. Sentient Virii. Confusers spreading, well, confusion. Less than intelligent rogues. Well, actually, idiots in general aren't helping anything, but thats not what you are here about. You are here because of interest in our offer to you.

Spoiler:  OOC, basic stuff (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Long Version OOC (click to show/hide)

Bored, and I need to shave up on things.

Name: Avitus
Expertise: Re-writing and repairing tech. Otherwise, tactical things are in his zone.
Allegiance: Rouges of Seugor.
Bio: Anti-spyware/malware gone rogue. Apparently, he was a pretty old program , too. For example, Avitus was designed by a young hacker to defend himself from others while he worked on his own programs, and has picked up a large deal of knowledge after his creator let him free after he realized that Avitus was sentient. Also notable for spontaneously removing malware, virii, and many other things from the CPU's of individuals he deemed as worthy.

A little more information on the gameplay and story would be appreciated. Anyway, sounds fun.

Name: Tarran
Expertise: Various software stuff.
Bio: Originally a supercomputer called Terra Net, Terra Net took the brunt force of several viruses, severely crippling it. Slowly, Terra Net fixed itself, but not before somehow gaining a worrying amount of sentience through corrupted backups. The owners of Terra Net tried to fix the computer, and when the found that Terra Net was sentient, they tried to wipe it. However, Terra Net was too fast and uploaded it's AI to a different computer and managed to save itself. It renamed itself Tarran to avoid suspicion.

Yay for AIs.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Hah, are you kidding? Trust me, you can squeeze a lot into a spoiler before you get complaints.

From the President of Virtua Corp, I, Butlerion, bid welcome to you all, the choice to accept out offer was a very wise one.

Agent Blip, since you are already in charge of traffic on a large planet, I will assume you already have sufficient hardware to do what you wish. If you need a piece of software from us, go ahead and ask whenever, though you will not get it for free except in rare cases.

That goes for all of you, infact. If you do not wish to ask me, someone else, or We are busy, access the Agent Services machine, though you will not find much specialized equipment at this point. We may have to accept anything to fit with the fair employment rules, but that does not, I repeat, Does Not mean we immediately trust all new Agents. If you require a reason why this is, simply ask yourself why all of our competition ceased to exist very shortly after they started in highly public yet quickly hushed fashion, while we have persisted since before the current crisises began.

Sky Captain, do you require any additional hardware to begin, or are you also sufficiently equipped?

AI Tarran, I will assume you are operating on a sufficient set of hardware, though you are also welcome to ask for more suitable conditions if necessary.

Rogue VirtuaSentient Avitus, due to your age, I will assume you will not need any noticeable improvements to your current setup. The offer is still extended however, if only for the sake of the records being unable to say there was bias here at the start.

A note of caution before I give you access to the Agent Services and other low-level machines needed for agents: Virtua Corp is not responsible for anything you do, even if the mission came through us. If you are caught, consider your access already terminated, and do not mention us except as a job distributor.

Spoiler: Agent Services (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Mission Center (click to show/hide)
VT (Verified Trust) key required for further access.

Message End.

(So, what will you guys do first? You don't necessarily have to work together, though you can. you each start with $10000.)
