ERROR!
« Reply #315 on: July 19, 2008, 06:41:07 am »

There is an error in the new  version, it seems the editing of strength agiliy and toughness is bugged. Strength does nothing, agility buffs strength and toughness boosts agility.

Stats editing seems ok though so far. Ah well, i ll have to do it the old fashioned way and swim a few rivers

Those are your stats.  Skill maybe you meant to say, because skill editing works fine for me but stats work the way you described.

Just wondering, is the person that made the stand alone, working on the new version? I could never get the normal Dwarf Companion to work. But, the stand alone has always worked for me  ;D.

As I said a couple posts up, Valdemar hasn't even visited the forums for a month now.
He doesn't even KNOW there's a new version, of DF or Companion.
(In the former's case, three...)

Oh, sorry :(. Must have over looked that post. I guess I'll go try and wrestle with the regular version. Thanks for informing me, though :D.

Tested the new version of DC, like when I updated my GTK+ before, it's giving me shit n' errors at startup and refuses to load. Trying to troubleshoot now by moving files around and reinstalling python/gtk.

Yeah, Mine is giving errors too (not a surprise, though). I just don't know what said errors.. say.. the black little window pops up, and then goes away.. Never even had letters/symbols in it.. I've got everything that the wiki page said I needed though..

Has anyone updated the combat text mod yet? I don't normally use the full dwarf companion but really liked that feature, just so i'd know what was going on in my battles.

Mine has been working fine, although I haven't done much with it.

I healed an important dwarf's gouged-out eye because missing body parts are broken.

For Windows XP: Start > Run > cmd > cd Driveletter:/DwarfCompanionLocation > Enter > file you run to start companion.py > Enter
Should leave window open for you to view the error.
For every other copy of windows, the process of getting to the command prompt may be different, but otherwise the same method applies.

I just installed DC 0.12 and a fresh install of everything it said to install on the wiki and it worked perfectly. You might need the three modules that it says to get if you're using python 2.4 or a -all version (which this latest version of DC is)

Well, what I did was get python 2.5. Then that environment thing under it. Then, I got the all in 1 module pack.. which is a link under the 0.12 download.

Okay, I've narrowed it down to this error -
python.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point g_timeout_add_seconds_full could not be located in the dynamic link library libglib-2.0-0.dll.

Uninstall EVERYTHING and just use the all in one.  That's what it's there for..  All.  in.  one.  Simple enough...

I thought it was just for the three things that went with the modules.. hah. My bad :D.

Anyways, I uninstalled it all, then installed the all in 1 and.. IT WORKED :D.
