REGARDING POTS/BARRELS/ETC: OH HUR. Check the "orders" Screen, and make sure "Dwarves Gather Food" is on. I think it defaults to off, for some reason.

Goblins seem about the same to me.

Do you just have less armor due to having less metal or something?

Ya, it's probably that and the fact that they were wielding silver weapons.
A cage trap and ornery reindeer later and now we have those weapons.

Anybody figured out how to stockpile clay? Or wax? I can't find them in the stockpile options.

By the way, I design table top RPGs and other games. You can buy some.

Enabling economic stone on the stone stockpile stockpiles them there. I don't know about wax, might be the same.

For some reason, clay is being stocked in my coal-only stockpile.

There's no way to turn off clay for stockpiles so pretty much any stone stockpile will take clay.

I can spin the hair of slaughtered animals into thread but I can't seem to weave it into cloth. I've never seen "hair cloth" so it could be intentional. Oh well.

If I'm reading this right - I can't cage cats and dogs anymore?  They have to eat?  I just started a .19 and had a lot of trouble keeping a Yak and Water Buffalo fed, but I didn't have any cages made yet for the puppies and kittens...

cats and dogs should be fine, bugs not withstanding, AFAIK it's only grazers that have to eat.

It was ON by default for me.

Just a heads up on what I am pretty sure is a bug. If you try to glaze a large pot without ash, just charcoal, it will go ahead and do it. BUT the pot will just sit there. Make sure you have ash and charcoal on hand for each pot. By doing this I have been able to successfully make and fill my pots. And wow do they hold a top of stuff lol.
There is no RAWs for ash, so it may be a problem.

However, what if we replace a reaction with two: 1) requires cassiterite; 2) requires ash bar. It will consume a whole bar, but maybe it will fix the bug?

I noticed that soap making now uses lye in buckets, instead of lye in barrels.  So don't set up a stockpile to have lye-filled buckets poured into barrels and don't buy barrels of lye.

Edit: they seem to be able to use both barrels and buckets.  I don't know why they weren't using the barrels before.  Maybe they can't use lye barrels if they are assigned to a stockpile.  More testing needed.

I cannot glaze with ash, which is strange.

I have an unglazed clay jug, a bar of ash and charcoal, and I  can't perform the task. Any ideas why?

If a stray grazer is free to wander will it find food on it's own? Or do you have to designate a pasture.

It will probably just hang out in a meeting area, so I would go with a pasture.
