And it aged a very lot much better than previous GOG offering, War Wind, as it's still fun and excellent to play.
There's an unofficial patch around for improvement, bugfixes and etc..

Though the AI in skirmish isn't good, it's very recommended to download one of the custom made AI to get a challenge (it's been many years so there's probably better AI around by now, but i had excellent skirmishes with the Queller and Mostly Harmless non cheating AI years ago).

Or even better, get one of the best mods available for TA (I remember great ones like Escalation, Devolution), they usually also include much better AI than the stock one too.

It's usually what happens when you have publishers that have in their hands a great serie of game, have no real idea why the serie was so great before and  give it to new developers.

edit : not saying the game is bad, because it's actually good. But it's not as good as the Hitman games that came before as you have noticably less different type of approaches to complete a mission. Reminds me of the Tenchu serie with the last of the serie cutting a lot of the "freeform" aspect of each maps and making things more linear.

Helltaker is a free game on steam (forever) and it is definitly worth at least a few bucks. It's basically a puzzle game in hell with demon girls...but is mostly puzzle. (Hastily adds) Anyway, it is a bit short on content, but it is high quality, and it has been out for what, a week?
