What if Fortress mode would merge with Adventure and were released to play Online ? Answer -> EmpireMUD ->
https://empiremud.net/I really spend lot of time to dig into such a gem. You got your people and army to manage while building city in aka DF style online. its workforce management is so similar those inside DF, where you set targets of particular goods to produce for your labourer. All real time. Mindblowing.
Game is cross between roguelike and Mud. Input is text, while surroundings are displayed on refreshed map with graphic aka DF.
I dont know how it is in long term, but I started few days ago and am sleeples, starved, dirty and hopelessly addicted.
EmpireMUD's emphasis is on politics, trade, building, and resource management rather than combat. Players join existing empires or found their own to forge powerful alliances.
