Minor nitpicks:  ( I just skimmed, there may be more. )
30. Cave Story -- Awesome sub-type?  Description: So very Awesome?  That doesn't tell anyone about the game.
36. Daggerfall  -- Dungeons are not random.  They were randomly generated when the game was built, but they never change.  They randomly generated the dungeons and used the results.
40.  Dink Smallwood -- Awesome used again.
45.  Dwarf Fortress -- Awesome, Awesome, Awesome?
79.  Iji -- Awesome sub-type?
106.  Modern Warfare 2D -- "Short, but fun." should be in impressions.
115.  Open Clonk -- Awesome sub-type?
173.  TOME 4 -- Awesome sub-type?
175.  Toribash -- Awesome sub-type?

I feel like I was sent by someone to squash awesome... but "awesome" doesn't really tell anyone what type of game it is.

Otherwise, cool list.

Dwarf Fortress deserves it, at least. The others, not so much.

Name: Navyfield
Website:EU website
US website
Genre: MMO
Type: Action/RPG
Sub-Type: Naval
OS: Windows
Notes: A naval mmo that has rpg elements in levelling up crews to get better ships and become more efficient and involves skill for aiming weaponry at other ships. A bit grindy, but fun. A warning about EU servers; German seems to be the predominant language, Vanguard tends to be a bit more active than Bismarck. Not sure about US servers.

Name: Noitu Love
Website:http://www.konjak.org/index.php?folder=4&file=7
Genre: Platformer/Beat-Em-Up
OS: Ran it on windows vista, but any OS should be fine? Don't hold me to this.
Notes: Above average game, but the pixel art and music is wonderful.

Meh, the only 2 games on the list deserving of awesome is Dwarf Fortress and Liberal Crime Squad, since this free game list is a product of mostly B12ers... or so I'd like to believe.  Shame on anyone not knowing what Dwarf Fortress is for that matter...

For the rest, yea, as long as they are in a proper category and with a decent enough description.

I don't quite get it, why can't this list have abandonware?

Because they're technically illegal, I'd guess.
And yeah, I really need to update the list, huh? I'll do it when I get back home.

Abandonware is a legal gray area.  The idea behind abandonware is that you can no longer buy the game, so therefore it must be abandoned by the industry/owner and should be freely distributed.  All it takes for the owner to invalidate your download is to start reselling their product and your perfectly innocent intent becomes illegal.

Because Toady said that the list would be removed if abandonware shows up on it.

Dink Smallwood is a zelda-esque RPG that combines a bit of slapstick humour, limited inventory space, and a horrific modding engine that (because it's so impossibly bad) has resulted in hundreds of alternate adventures/mods.  Several of which eclipse the original game by an incredible margin.  The community is still slightly active as well.

It was created by the maker of LoRD, if any of you know that old BBS game.

Hmm, I have taken a few games, so I will give a few back.
Hubby the Clay Cube
http://gamejolt.com/community/forums/topics/hubby-the-clay-cube/645/
Action|Platformer|Clay
Single player
Windows
Fun little Mario-est game that has great characterisation through mechanics. Seriously, it feels like clay! Short game, and not that hard, but a fun title either way.

Verge
http://db.tigsource.com/games/verge
Puzzle|Platformer| Experimental
Single player
Windows
Great little puzzle game that made death a game mechanic. Cross this with a legend of zelda game, and shit would be epic.

Bunny Must Die!!!/Chelsea and the seven devils
http://indygamer.blogspot.com/2006/11/bunny-must-die.html
Action|Platformer|Castleveinia
Single player
Windows
Epic game, pretty hard too. Humour is off the charts awesome, in the same way as Elona.

Huh thought this one would be on there already

We Want YOU
http://wewantyou.quicksandgames.com/wwy/index2.php
Action/Procedural/Platformer/Shooter
Single Player
Windows
War game where you continuously move downwards, killing(or sparing) your enemies.  Time passes the further you delve.  Enemies get stronger, weapons change, and the war...war never ends.

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

www.warlight.net

Warlight is a Risk-inspired TBS, with lots of different settings, and a fairly easy system to create your own maps.
Runs in the browser, has a single-player mode, but of course only really shines in multi-player.
Can be played as a PBEM paced game, or in a more frantic "real-time" setting.
Simple and elegant.
