Looks like GoG is giving away The Witcher 2 for free too , but in a different way than Mount&Blade
As to get The Witcher 2 free, you'll need to click the little "+" next to the " The Witcher 2 + The Gamers: Director’s Cut " panel near the middle of the GoG page then wait +/- 18 hour (or a day) then click on the next "+" that will be unlocked etc... until you clicked the 7 "+"

Of course while logged in.

Very odd method to get you to check their sales page everyday for a week, but hey another DRM free game , not going to argue

You should also add FUMBBL, at www.fumbbl.com, which is a modern, multi-player implementation of the Blood Bowl tabletop game. You manage and run a team of fantasy football. You match it against other players, and your players level up, gain new skills, etc. Persistent teams!

Similarly, there's already MegaMek, but you ought to mention MekWars as well, which uses MegaMek to fight battles in a multiplayer campaign mode. The campaign is huge, and there's also persistence. It can be found at www.mekwars.org

I cannot believe FUMBBL has somehow been missed. FUMBBL is a free Java client rendition of GW's Blood Bowl series, which you probably know about via the Cyanide version. Same game, same ruleset, just a bit less glitchy in exchange for a slightly smaller playerbase and more finicky UI in some cases (but less so in others).
