Wow. Okay. Uh, so, going down the list then.

ARMORED BRIGADE, added in. Calling it 4x, but that may be wrong. (I may play this one, and I know a couple people who will fall over backwards trying to get at it.)

D-Day: Normandy, I'm hesitant to add mods to the list. I realize it's likely near total conversion level...but still, will have to consider it. Some additional input on the subject would be helpful, but adding in mods could open a whole new world of crazy to the size of the list.

King's Quest 3 remake added. I'm personally not a point and click adventure fan, so I wouldn't know about it.

The Spirit Engine 1 added, but the Spirit Engine 2 seems to require purchase. It does offer a demo, for anyone curious, but I'm not going to be adding that one in.

LBreakout2 added in. Any good game list needs a solid Breakout clone.

C-evo added, sounds good, will have to take a look at it later. A shame it doesn't seem to have multiplayer, I know a couple people who love to play this MP.

Hidden and Dangerous: Deluxe, I've added it, but went through http://www.hidden-and-dangerous.net/deluxe/download.php instead.

I was a bit hesitant to add OpenLieroX, but went with it in the end.

I am NOT looking at that while I'm at work. Nope. Not happening. Not with that warning. When I get home, assuming I'm not horribly distracted, I'll look at it.

Added Simutrans. A more complex OpenTTD sounds both frightening and awesome.

ASCII Sector, added it, but just FYI, there is also Prospector. Should take a look at that.

--

Added in SMBC, because it's really that awesome :D

Added Hero Fighter. No clue what it is. Looks fairly cheesy and smells of the 'free' Korean MMOs, but if it's terrible someone can yell at me to remove it.

Well then. My fingers would hurt, except this is fairly standard typing for me. Anyways. Back to surfing the web while I wait for the day to end.

Weird. I read it more, realized what it really was, and thought I updated my in-progress post. Apparently, I did not. Oh well.

Added D-Day, since it is standalone. Definitely going to have to stick with a 'no mods' policy, just too many out there.

Good to know. Didn't mean to imply it actually was one of those Korean 'free' MMOs, just that that's the feel the website gave me ;)

Looked into Spirit Engine 2. I should have done more looking with it earlier, but, I've added it now. It is, indeed, free.

Heh. Work, yes. Tech support, man. I spend half my day browsing the internet.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but this lists most (if not all) of the free games on desura.

I have not found it yet, but does desura even have a way to just list games by price? It seems to only be usable by front page or game name if you know it.

I was asking about Desura's free games in general. The Desura interface is terrible.

It does not have a way to list by price.... unfortunately.

Someone should probably remove X-Com: The Two Sides, development stopped due to legal issues and it is no longer downloadable.

Updated accordingly.

Not going to add other lists, as mentioned on the first post. Also not going to dig through lists to try to find good games. If there are one or two specifically that are worth putting on this list, then mention them individually.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet.

Secret of Ultimate Legendary Fantasy Unleashed. (Soulfu from now on, quite the mouthfull)
Check it out at http://www.aaronbishopgames.com/

Soulfu is a free, open source game unlike any other game other than roguelike games.

Stolen directly from the manual:

SoulFu allows up to four players to play simultaneously, and USB Joysticks are recommended. Before starting, you must setup controls for each player. You'll figure it out! There are some things worth mentioning, however...
1. This game is designed to be quick to play. There is no save, F9 pauses.
2. Characters will slowly starve.
3. Most levels are randomly generated.
4. Hold the inventory button down and press other buttons to do "stuff".
5. Light damage is easy to heal, heavy wounds are not.
6. Enchantments tap mana, making it unavailable for other uses.
7. The castle still needs some work. In the training room, jump on the post to hire helpers.
8. High-level characters must be virtuous.

If riding through a dungeon in a warthog while a friend uses the chaingun, running over all types of cute and un-cute cell shaded critters is your idea of a good time, then we can hang out sometime.
You control each arm of your character, and can use swords, bows, magic, and other goodies in each hand. You also have two special attack slots that can hold your character's special abilities.

The character classes are:
Soldier
Wizard
Healer
D'warf
G'nome
Hubbin
Mystic
Elf

If you are looking for a quick pick up and play game with beautiful graphics, try it out with some friends.

Check out the forums. http://soulfu.forumotion.com/
Some fans have even created a save-game feature.
Check there as well for info on Mac and Linux builds.

The cons:
The game is not finished, and some areas a rough around the edges. But the core game is very functional and is very fun to play!

Related:
The tool tiggit is really awesome for searching/playing free games.
It features 277 freeware games, some demos and the sorting+rating of them. It doesn't look too fancy right now, but is really easy too use.
Important: When you download it make sure you give DF 5 stars :).
