I know, silly. I was just seeing how else that could be interpreted.

Wait.

What did I just link.

*Does some quick mental timelining*

Oh Shit.

It would appear:

Skynet --> HeliOS --> Watson.

Gentlemen, we're at the end of the line. It was a pleasure knowing you all.

Wow. That Final Jeopardy question.

Quote
William Wilkinson's "An Account of the Principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia" inspired this author's most famous novel.

The relevant information is so buried in there that the program obviously accounts for diectical reference. Jeopardy questions do like to phrase themselves that way "this painter's" "this twentieth century pop artist." Watson had to hunt down the missing information in the statement. A program could easily think the missing information was the name of the novel but Watson didn't.

No using. That's not what freedom is for.

Watson's obviously been playing too much DF. Milk isn't anything until you turn it into cheese.

I'm glad Watson won though, because for some reason I like it. I too welcome our new overlords.

Jeopardy is so painfully contrived sometimes. One of the questions was "what is he's missing his left leg?".

The implications of this are pretty exciting. I might actually live long enough to see a robot. Although his mistakes tend to be odd. Oh well, Toronto is now a US city.

If a Watson-type robot apocalypse is a problem, you can always send Andy Richter to take care of the situation.

This is pretty good. Think about it if they made Watson's commercially available. It's everything(or nearly everything) that has been documented at your disposal instantly.

If you can devote

4x3 towers with 8 computer-blades in them.

How much do 96 computers cost anyway?

Not a small amount, even if we assume cooled server rooms to be a sunk cost. Could save a lot of money if they're able to draw the language data from the same drive though (saving you 95*15 terabytes of memory).
