Indeed. Most computers have trouble understanding reference as simple (to humans) as pronoun substitution. And here is a computer capable of looking beyond the literal meaning of the text itself and to the implications of that text. It's pretty astounding.

I think you entirely overestimate Watson's algorithm.

You did watch the video where he answered 'milk' for a non-dairy product, right?

He runs on mere association.

 Well yeah he will mess up a lot, but he does do well a decent amount of the time considering everything.

Day 3 is done; Total figures from both days combined are: 77147 for Watson, $24000 for Jennings, $20600 for Rutter.
As Jennings supposedly (I haven't found a video yet) wrote under his Final Jeopardy answer: "I, for one, welcome our new computer overlords." 8)
