Can you be more specific? What kind of games do you enjoy, or what do you generally avoid?

Dwarf Fortress, Toribash, Spelunky, Elona, ADOM, Nethack, Battle for Wesnoth (I think it's free), Cave Story, Iji. Cave Story alone is enough to keep you occupied for a while.

An Untitled Story is a very good metroidvania with lots of upgrades to discover.  Knytt, Knytt Stories, and Seiklus are nice relaxing explorative games.  Within a Deep Forest is set in the same world as Knytt but is more game-y.

I am not sure if I'd Put Eternal Daughter in the list of Good Freeware games

It can be extremely tough but the problem is that you NEED to find a lot of the secret items in order to stand a chance once the going gets tough.

Often making it a walkthrough game.

But still... try it for yourself

Eternal Daughter

You play a small girl with a sword attack that can be charged to shoot... and you do stuff... Standard Platformer really, but somewhat fun.

Iji and Alien Swarm.

Prospector, and I think SS13 are pretty good.

I put SS13 into a pile of "Can be good"... When I first started playing I only had fun because I had someone with me who was showing me the ropes.

Otherwise it can be a "What am I doing here?"

I would love someone to make a better version of SS13, but that never went anywhere.

SS13 is kinda... Erp. If you go onto a goon sever, you'll be amazed at how fun it is. Until the goons get ya. I say start with hxc rp at bs12, and work your way down to /tg/, and then to goon.

1: I like that the two of you have a red avatar background even if it isn't the same red.
2: Your dwarf avatar needs a beer barrel for a hammer head. I think this is pretty important.
3: I second Spelunky and Cave Story. Also check out Kongregate or Newgrounds for free flash games.

Daggerfall.

You know, Daggerfall is the answer to all of these threads looking for games.

DoomRL, Transcendence, and Caves of Qud are all neat freeware games. Check the first (our own thread on it is here) if you like Roguelikes but you'd rather rather not spend hours and hours just tinkiering around with your guy so you don't die. I highly recommend you check out the second at least once, since this game deserves more attention from this forum then it's getting; it's a freaking spaceship shoot-em-up roguelike with a lot of potential modability. The last is a recent roguelike that we have a thread on here.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.
