How do you feel about Apple (the company that makes iPhones, not any sort of fruit etc)?

I really like them and buy all their products.
I like them and think they're a good company.
I like them.
I don't care either way.
I do not particularly like them.
I dislike them.
I detest Apple and go out of my way to tell people how terrible their products are.
Undecided.
Other.

Now if you will, let's take our pitchfork and torch, and burn all this locked down privateer crap for the glory of the free software revolution.
Praise the Stallman.

Or maybe you could get your pitchfork and torch and use it on a cause that matters.

But you can't do that from the privacy of your home :/

Hahahahahahahah ho wow.
Now you're amusing, because
a) while apple have deplorable commercial policies, this is an humorous reminder, not meant to be taken literally
b) as much as wannabe "pragmatists" like to mock "at home" action, since we are in democracy, most political action must be done "at home" (at which point they usually bable about 15 years old boys in theirs mom's basement).
c) free software is important in several key matter right now, and if you don't think so, I'm afraid you really need to open a newspaper, and maybe a book about informatics.

I know, I can dream though.  I don't play too many games anymore aside from dwarf fortress anyway.

So what would you be displaying on it? (although df would look awesome at a 16k+ by 9k+ on a normal screen, you could actually play with 128 pixel tilesets)

Same things I'd display on my current monitor.  The best thing about it would be the font rendering.  I've never been happy with the way fonts look on most computer displays, and all the font smoothing methods either result in blurry fonts, and/or color distortion on colored fonts.  I'd also be able to display much more on a screen at once for things such as dwarf fortress and other roguelike type games.

Main thing is fonts though.  I'm really picky about my fonts.

I personally believe that the popularity of the iPod/iPhone/iPad/etc. and Steve Jobs' current poor health are both the direct result of a pact made between Steve Jobs and Satan.

I mean, have you noticed that Jobs' pancreatic cancer appeared at just about the same time when the iPod first started to dominate the portable music market? And besides, what other explanation could there possibly be for people buying Apple's products?

People buy it because Apple has a damn good marketing department, which has carefully cultivated the Apple brand to look shiny and superior. Which may or may not have something to do with a Faustian Pact made by Steve Jobs.

Someone should have counseled him away from doing that. Someone should have told him what could go wrong, that it's a bad idea, that it could only lead to disaster. Someone, someone, should have warned Satan never to deal with Steve Jobs!
Man, just let it go, there's nothing we can do for him now. The Prince of Darkness got himself in this mess, and he's the only one who can get himself out.

Apple has a damn good marketing department

I'm not sure I can think of a company that can do PR as well as Apple. (unless you count peperami some how still managing to get away with their contains 150% meat statements)
They remind me of the advertising team in monkeydust.

Heck Apple is one of the few companies I've seen that actually not only got away with attacking their own customers, but are actually more popular because of it.

If there's one thing hipsters hate more than "conformity," it's hipsters. So they all conform and attack hipsters to be more hipstery and non-conformist. That involves Apple, somehow. Perhaps their giant glasses and overuse of plaid look better when reflected in the little silver Apple logo or something. :P
