my crundle arrived today :) not sure when i'll be able to digitize it

Crundle is.. well

The proper term is the perineum, if that's what urban dictionary says a crundle is.

hehehe, awesome pic

we're gathering a few images, perhaps it's time to start uploading them to the wiki

i'll see what i can do, i don't even have a wiki account and will have to dabble a little with it, anybody more experience has any advice? or is up to the task?

also, not sure if it's redundant, but i created a new thread in the wiki section of the forums, mainly to ask advice and permission to whoever is active and interested on the wiki

I have an epic crayon reward of a dragon perched on top of a castle, spewing fire and smoke. I'll scan it real quick for you guys to use if you want. I apparently don't have permission to upload it to the wiki so someone else will have to do it.

EDIT: here it is

So dragons do have wings in Dwarf Fortress.

Seems to be a toss up  My dragon pic doesn't.  But from the differences in the signature Passive's is probably newer than mine.  So it could be either

A)  They used to not, but Toady and Zach changed their minds.
B) They still aren't sure.
C) They want them to have wings, but with current flier pathfinding oddities they are waiting til they can pathfind right.
or D) They plan on that being one of the things that the RNG decides when they implement the slightly randomized dragons.

Personally one of the only modifications I made to the vanilla raws was the addition of wings to dragons so I prefer Passive's version myself.

Not to go all Tolkien on everyone but he had a pretty good system for dragons where many things, like fire breathing and wings, were optional rather than required. Glaurung, for example, was the first fire breather (and even then, more like a smoker) but couldn't fly. Ancalagon the Black could fly, and was the strongest dragon ever, but couldn't breath fire. Smaug, who could fly *and* breath fire, was the mightiest dragon of the Third Age but there were also Cold Drakes (non-fire breathers) to the far north. Only one was named, Scatha the Worm I think? Not sure of the spelling.

Anyway, the upshot of all this blather is the idea that both depictions are right.

Tolkien's dragons were also created by an evil god.  So their form would have followed from their creator's whims.
They were also all evil.  None of that "free will" stuff us humans get.

I think you had to rotate it 90* CCW... So it's a dwarf jumping on a goblin and pushing him off a beak dog.

Right now it looks like a beak dog is chilling on its ass while a naked gobbo and a dwarf without pants... Well, you know.

My, that gobbo looks surprised.

The Adams brothers together do them- last I heard they took a day out of the month to do them while visiting relatives, with Zach drawing and Tarn coloring.

* Draco18s digs up an old thread.

Rise from the grave!

*Cough* Ahem.  Anyway.
I did (finally) donate and get a crayon drawing of a dragon, just like I said I would months and months ago.  Behold my shitty photo of it:

Taken with my cell phone and totally forgot to rotate it.  I'll have to break out the scanner tomorrow and do the picture justice.  In any case, we have empirical proof that dragons in DF are of the Oriental variety, not the Occidental, although they do harbor their western cousins' penchant for burninating the countryside.
