Only 40$ if you buy it with a friend.

That is what I did.

If portal 2 is as entertaining as portal 1 then its well worth the money in my books.

If anyone wants to take advantage of the offer, I lack a copy of Portal on my Steam...

Steamname is ExKirby, I have a Spanish Penguin with shades on as my Avatar.

As I mentioned elsewhere, due to a recent lemon I am not pre-ordering any games anymore.

I am still quite interested in Portal 2, but I am being more cautious now.  I don't like wasting my money.

I was actually curious if you specifically were going to keep with it as far as Portal 2!  Well, way to stick to your principles.  Here's hoping it turns out good.

I'd hit it if it was $10.

And yes, disappointment is bitter.

I am.  I'm even debating buying Magicka (which several of my friends have and say is good) even at the $10 price tag.

I've elected to install Homeworld instead.
(Hey, it comes on this CD thing.  Who knew?)

I would think that preordering Portal 2 isn't a bad idea, because Valve is rather well known for making really good games. But I'm not preordering it anyway, because it's only saving me $5 now, and I have other things to buy.

I have to say, spending $45 to save $5 isn't really worth it to me, when I have other things I want to get. I'd get it if I wasn't already planning to buy something else.

True, however I'm sticking to principles here.

Of course, I'm not against that. Just saying though, anybody else that is hesitant should probably go for it. (Unless you're planning to get some other things like I am)

I've been bitten by the release-day hype machine a few times, yet I keep going back. Right now I have a list of upcoming games I'm trying to prioritise and justify preordering or waiting for. Surely I don't need/can't afford them all on release, but with preorder incentive DLC I always feel like I'm missing out... Portal 2's one of the definite yeas.
Spoiler: The list: (click to show/hide)

Ninja-edit: the last thing I want is more TF2 content.
real-edit: missed some games...

I want more TF2 content. More. Until it becomes self-aware and starts creating hats of its own.

I really, really, hope to god you're not serious.

This mass influx of new items has ruined TF2 irrevocably.

Waiting for a deal got me Arkham Asylum for $7.50. I think that's the way to go.
