In case you can't tell, I've been listening to Anton Lesser read the Iliad.

Also, two observations:

If Pwnzerfaust is soon to die from old age, try to save some of his retinue by transferring them to a younger general.

And how, pray tell, is this possible?

If I remember correctly (I haven't played this game for ages), you need to have both commanders in the same stack. Then click and hold on one of the followers, and put it over the other commander's icon in the lower bar.

Make sure to save that turncoat for our war on the 'roman' Barbarians.

Shit, eh? Sometimes your generals are just retarded. I just lost one of my better generals storming Paris.

I know one time I lost a general in a simple and unlucky move. Rebel army consisting of 1 group of Hastiti, I figured I could kill them with just the general cav. Managed to get out one Javilen toss before the charge hit, killed my general and only my general, the cav finished them off but lost the general. It's cool though, he wasn't that useful.

Yeah, isn't it great how even sheer chance has it out for you?

I'll also chuck my name down to become a spy if you can create any decent ones. If not then just hire some Cretan Archers to have some fun as.

Greece: Total War LP: Valiant deaths and Pyrrhic victories

To the Walls of Rome

A garrison for the city of Ephesus had arrived, after many dreadful mishaps and battles upon the sea. Boski, the quickest in the race, was once more free to range across Asia Minor, striking fear into the hearts of those who live under the country of Pontus. With his mighty host, Boski once more marched forth, eager for plunder and glory. The King of Pontus was much afraid of such a large, and well-equipped host. He sent messengers throughout all his kingdom, to gather together all the levies, to stop Boski's advance with a sea of men.

Spoiler: Battle of Mysia (click to show/hide)

Boski had little time to celebrate his victory, with wine, and feasting, and women, before messengers from the town of Ephesus arrived in his camp. They told of another army of Pontus, which was baring down on their city, with numbers that made their warriors seem but ants against a rainstorm. They implored him to save their city, which he had liberated not long ago. Boski, moved by their words and their plight, gathered his chiefs, and told them of his plans. With a hearty cheer, the chiefs listened to his words, and all were set to save the town of Ephesus.

Spoiler: Battle of Phrygia (click to show/hide)

Meanwhile, in Italy, Pwnzerfaust, feeling the strain of his age upon him, turned to his fellow general, Johnfalcon99977. "Johnfalcon99977, blessed by Athena and untouched by the ravages of age, for many months you have watched me ply my trade, of war-making and battle-winning. In the winter of my life, I feel the weariness of age upon me, and where I once looked on with pleasure, the thought of future battles and wars fills me only with fatigue. It is now time for you to command the hosts of Greece, and to secure her defence. Her colonies of old have been liberated, but her tormentors in Rome still walk freely, planning her downfall. It shall be up to you to lift the banner of vengeance of which I have made in my youth, and although your back may bow from its weight, carry it with pride, for all future generations of Greeks will look upon your name with praises upon their lips." So saying, Pwnzerfaust handed his baton of command to Johnfalcon99977, and commanded his followers to provide council to him.

Spoiler: First Battle of Rome (click to show/hide)

The Romans fled behind their walls, awaiting Johnfalcon99977's wrath. But their call for warriors had been heard, and an army of Romans, hardened by battles with the barbarians, marched to their aid.

Spoiler: Second Battle of Rome (click to show/hide)

For the next several days, the decimated archers of adwarf, himself included, straggled into the camp. Despite the losses they had incurred, the Greek army still besieged the town of Rome, building engines of war to breach her mighty walls. They knew that it would not be long before the Romans attempted to relieve the city once more.

They did not have long to wait.

Wow, nice battle out there in Rome. Poor Johnfalcon, his new followers didn't save him.
