Does anyone know of a Farming ASCII Game?
« on: February 13, 2011, 12:57:14 am »

Well, After awhail of playing dwarf fortress and getting ones self addictied to ANSII I wondered if there was a farming game in ASCII. Yes I know you can just pick up any old Harvest Moon game... But its not the same... For some reason those symbols just get to me... And have beacome entrenced within me... Im pretty sure it cannot be called a "Rougelike" Due to it not being like Rouge :P

Anywase, Moveing onto the main topic of this thread. Does anyone know of such a thing?, I think it would be intresting to play...

You could try sim farm if you want. It's has a bit more depth than Harvest moon or farmville.

Although as ASCII is technically the 7-bit character set, and (notespelling!) ANSI covers the character-set DF uses (extended into the 8-bit area, as well as fg/bg colouration, over-writing existing characters, etc, through the use of various escape codes), it's very much arguable as to which is the right term anyway. :)

No, sorry, don't know about the farming games.  I was just intrigued to see what what you actually meant
