suspended buildings

Probably I'm slow on that...

But it's really annoying when the dorfes suspend a construction for some (inespicable) reason and then do not complete it at all.

I tried everything but just cannot order them to complete the thing.

How can I stop being frustated and trowing tantrum because of this?

Is the construction material reachable, and is there a path to it?  If you're trying to build a bridge using items on the far side, then yeah, issues.

If they just keep canceling, it's due to some animal or 2/7 water there, or some similar reason.  I with she'd un-suspend jobs after a while -.-

Nah it's nothing of that. It get suspended for some reasons that I cannot understand, then there is no way to unsuspend it. The only way if to remove the construction and re-build it.

Actually, it's {q} and move over building, then {s}.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Yes that would be extremely frustrating if one does not know about the Q menu people mentioned :)

If one does not know about the q menu, how does one assign anything to be done? o.o

Still, the dwarfs tendency to suspend things is just annoying and stupd.
"UristMcIdiot cancels build wall: interrupted by groundhog"
"The dwarfes suspended the construction of obsidian wall"
At least an option for "do not forbid it, but try again" would be necessary.

The only time I have run into the issue described in the OP is when I have inadvertently forbidden the materials tasked to be used in the suspended building.  This usually happens when I do something like, set some buildings to be constructed, then while still paused go and so something like set a room full of stone to be dumped, thus forbidding the stone which I tasked to be used in the building.

The easiest resolution is to simply cancel the construction (q over then x), and re-designate.

Press "s" to unsuspend buildings.

It doesn't work. It's like in a "construction suspended" status. Then I press s and became inactive. Then I press s and it's still suspended.

Only way it's to press x to remove the construction and place it again.

Just depause (especially, de-q) if it's inactive. That just means there is currently no dwarf assignes to do that, but it's egligible for that (which will not happen before any time has passed).

"Inactive" means "No one is currently working but it's in the pipe"
"Suspended" means "No one is working and no one plans to"
Nothing means "Someone is fetching the materials now"

Ow! Ok so I think I need to switch from suspended to inactive.
Thanks man!
Anyway Girlinhat I cannot fail to note that you reply to virtually every thread... Like me when I'm in the office. Do you have a boring job as well?
