Death by Imaginary Creature
« on: February 12, 2011, 12:16:25 pm »

The time had come... I crawled over the commander's body, thrilled that my first fight had ended so gloriously. I wander back towards the town to boast of my accomplishments when I notice everything going dark. I turn around just in time to see a Bogeyman's foot go into my face, ripping my brain open. I died.

All of that aside, I think my first playthrough of Adventurer didn't go too badly. Anyway, getting to the main point of the thread, what is the typical death in Adventurer mode on, and what was your first?

Eatten by one lucky wolf....

Thats pretty much it...

Almost always bogeyman.

My epic 12-man army gets slaughtered, not by the titan we were sent to kill, but by a random bandit ambush on the way home.

I'm limping back, heavily burdened by the weight of 600 Titan meat, and the entire wardrobe of both mine, and the bandit's party, when...

You are surrounded by incessant cackling.

FUUUUUUUUUUU....

I usually end up getting mutilated by some random ambush. Or bogeymen. But usually the ambush, or an underestimated night beast. Those damn things do enjoy charging my ass all the time, and it's quite difficult to fight a standing opponent when you're knocked down and stunned.

My first death? Stepping on a frozen river and EXPLODING. Just like that. I have no idea what happened. I just stepped on the ice and exploded. Maybe i broke through the ice, but last time i fell into a river, i didn't exactly explode.

My companions get slaughtered by ambushes all the time.
It has led to me dubbing any large amount of partners that travel with me the Red Shirt Army.
And on to the original topic.
My most common death has been because of quest kills, whether it be night creatures or bandits.
My current adventurer has suffered an ungodly amount of wounds. There isn't a single part of his body that is unscarred.
Even my organs have scars from previous battles.

Typical death? Suicide (Once my power level is over 9000, I get bored being godly.) or archers.

First death?

Zombie. Stupid lashers and their pain causing weapons.

Typical death: night creature or. ambush, archer

First death: killed by the human inhabitants of a dark fortress after I tried to get one out of the way with wrestling (didn't know how you could duck), though ironically I was there to kill their leader in the first place

Usually I am beaten to a bloody pulp by bandits or hostile militias. Occasionally the bogeymen get me that first night when I miscalculate how far I can travel safely.

First death; don't remember. probably drowning or fire since both were pretty common for me to do accidentally in 40D.

I don't remember my first death either, but probably wolves.

Back in 40d, I modded bronze colossi to be playable and lost two to goblin archers. I will never forget that.

That was actually frozen helium, stepping on it melted it and caused it to explode and tear your body apart.

First death, swimming down a river to work up my swimming skills, step out and take two steps away from the river and it freezes over. "Wow! That was lucky!" I said to myself as a pack of wolves proceeded to tear my head off and chew it like a tennis ball.

First death: thirst I didn't know how to eat drink or travel. Currently my main type of death is beeing heavily outnumbered and killing off (I tend to have a lot of allies so that makes a lot of attackers aswell).
