I think it would be a lie to say that I'm not a definite nerd. However, I feel good enough about myself to not feel bad or shy about it. I won't go and brag my nerdy conquests to everyone I know, but I will explain it to people if they ask.

I find that many people don't know what a nerd is and often confound them with geeks.
So I'm just going to throw this in here.

Nerd is a term that refers to a person who avidly pursues intellectual activities, technical or scientific endeavors, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests, rather than engaging in more social or conventional activities. It often carries a derogatory connotation or stereotype. The nerd may be awkward, shy and unattractive.^[1] Therefore, a nerd is often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers, or will tend to associate with like-minded people.

Although I do resent that one sentence.

It does help to be in an environment where pretty much all your peers are like-minded

Hmm... that's though one then.
I know my way around a computer terminal, I can program in various languages, I don't play video games (Aside from Guitar Hero-esque stuff at parties and whatnot), but I've got fair share of friends and I go out a lot. I'd go with nerd, I guess.
