I think it would be a lie to say that I'm not a definite nerd. However, I feel good enough about myself to not feel bad or shy about it. I won't go and brag my nerdy conquests to everyone I know, but I will explain it to people if they ask.

I find that many people don't know what a nerd is and often confound them with geeks.
So I'm just going to throw this in here.
Quote from: Wikipedia
Nerd is a term that refers to a person who avidly pursues intellectual activities, technical or scientific endeavors, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests, rather than engaging in more social or conventional activities. It often carries a derogatory connotation or stereotype. The nerd may be awkward, shy and unattractive.[1] Therefore, a nerd is often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers, or will tend to associate with like-minded people.
Hell yes.

Although I do resent that one sentence.
It does help to be in an environment where pretty much all your peers are like-minded ;)

Most of the time when someone is described as politically correct they are simply correct.

Definitions of nerd on the Web:

    * swot: an insignificant student who is ridiculed as being affected or boringly studious
    * an intelligent but single-minded expert in a particular technical field or profession

    * Nerd is a term often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual       activities, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests that are age-inappropriate rather than engaging in more social or popular activities.

    * The Nerd is a two-act comedy written by American actor/playwright Larry Shue.

    * N.E.R.D (often stylized as N*E*R*D) is an American rock, funk and hip hop band. Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo were signed by Teddy  Riley to Virgin Records as a duo, The Neptunes. ...

    * A person who, although having good technical or scientific skills, is introspective and generally introverted

    * Nerds are a form of candy currently sold by Nestlé under their Willy Wonka Candy Company brand.

    * nerdy - Of or like a nerd

    * Supposedly the term was coined in the 1940s at the Renssellear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. It was meant to describe the opposite of a party person, aka, a drunk. The opposite of a “drunk” is a “knurd”—pronounced “nerd.”

Hmm... that's though one then.
I know my way around a computer terminal, I can program in various languages, I don't play video games (Aside from Guitar Hero-esque stuff at parties and whatnot), but I've got fair share of friends and I go out a lot. I'd go with nerd, I guess.
