What would you do if you could bend reality to your will?
« on: February 11, 2011, 06:52:48 pm »

Yeah, I've been wondering about this for a while. The title is self-explanatory.

I'll start: I would make a massive zoo, imprison Cthulhu inside ad put a sign outside saying: Do not feed the Cthulhu.

Reverse time to my first day at school, go from there.

The fun bit would be that this little kid would have the mind of somebody significantly older, so I would have to try my hand at acting basicaly my entire life to not attract suspision.

Effectively eliminate scarcity, for myself at least.  Unlimited wants meets nigh-unlimited resources.  Woohoo!

Already did. This existence is because I was really bored.

You son of a bitch.

EDIT: Oh, and I suppose I'd bypass my lack of crafting skills, allowing me to create some of the spiffy things I envision without the whole "I do not have the ability to actually do that" thing getting in the way.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I would ride an Alien Queen around while screwing Megan Fox. What else?

You would get bored of being 'all powerful' fairly quickly. Take the hard road, for the sake of your own sanity.

Also, Megan fox? Realy, you can't do any better? Atleast say Emma Watson, that way your supporting a movie franchise that was good at once point in time.

I'd probably get bored one day and make myself forget that I ever had those powers.

Megan Fox was the first one that came to mind. But then again I would probably screw Emma Watson at the same time. Now THAT would be epic.

I suspect the lives of the mighty (rich, influential, lucky, or in this case superhuman) are no less legitimate or engrossing than the lives of the meager.

I would make a book, say, a thousand pages long, that could hold any text I desired. Kind of like an ebook, but with actual pages, and no backlighting.

Also: holophonors.

Oh, I assure you that the lives of the mighty are fun times indeed. I've written about them. But there's a difference between 'mighty' and 'can do anything'. Once you have the latter kind of power, you no longer want anything. Except a challenge.
