Randomly named animals in Legends?
« on: February 11, 2011, 03:49:03 pm »

In 40d, they were named for kills (or attacks) on members of different civilizations, but it seems in this version, there's a bunch of pointless naming going on. For instance:

I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this, or knows what the cause may be. Random sighting by a sentient who names things too quickly?

Doubt it; it would make sense for it to note that and not settle in an area. Possible, though.
Maybe the game chooses individuals of assorted species to have a chance of doing interesting stuff.

Do you have "Cull pointless historical figures" on?  It may have been a pointless one that would have otherwise been omitted.

Ah, is that what that does? It's weird that they're made at all.

It may be, I keep mine culled, but from descriptions I've heard, the useless ones are people who didn't do anything, and thus had no impact on society, as is the case with animals that are born, go somewhere, and die.  Nothing important, so it's culled.

It might have attacked a civ, but scored no kills?  Or would that be in legends?

the attacks show up in Legends even if no one was killed and there was no damage to any structures
