Nirur Torir
Xeniice (Turquoise)
(FYI, if you had gone to the end of the age without touching tile 5, I'd have stuck a Grove of the Spirits there. Dunno exactly what it would have done.)
Lorzanth's explorers finally get a little luck. Further to the south, they find the plains drying out and thinning, as they become rockier and hillier. At the southmost reaches of their explorations, the earth is downright barren and sandy. Of more immediate interest, however, is the substantial pile of rocks they locate in a small gully. They're hard, durable, and just the right size to lug back home. It takes most of six months to haul them to town, but, eager for something useful to show for their explorations, they do it without complaint.
The Nedici also make an interesting find. The river flows through the open plains, and after a time, the explorers find the same dry, sandy terrain to the east. Along the river, however, the land is just as lush as before. In one rocky outcropping, exploration yields a few pebbles of an odd green substance which, when scratched, reveals a hard, red-brown material beneath. This seems important to them, although they don't know why.
Things back in Xeniice go nicely, as well. Research goes very well. Knowledge of hunting is back up to where it was in the gnomes' nomadic days - maybe even a bit better - and this somehow seems to lead people to give more thought to the spirits of the world around them. Nobody is quite sure how that happened, but the spirits seem to like the attention. Construction of the new assorted resource-gathering facilities goes according to schedule, and the workers at the new quarry find a brittle red stone that they think is somehow significant.
