Yeah, that makes more sense I guess. I'm pretty sure they always walk around on all fours but they have to have some arrangement for doing stuff, unless they just always have like a volus handy to open doors for them or something.

The Only mounted guns i've seen are Giant guns with insane machinery

I am pretty sure you can't mount a MG ment for a Frigate on a Elcor

You could probably put the guns that YMIR mechs use on a sort of harness for Elcor to walk around with. Like, if they had a special armor you could attach it to the arms and back and stuff.

It depends, really. All we know for sure is that the Normandy requires a huge one and guns have tiny ones. If you were needing to power just a gun and not an entire ship it's fairly reasonable to assume you wouldn't need...

Or encase it with the elcor's armour. You don't need every ME generator Normandy sized AKA FUCKHUEG for it's size.
