I had a giggle with a mate about the railworks price too.

...however, you guys do realise that the only reason HL: Lost Coast is so expensive is that it's only available for purchase in the valve complete pack?

I think that's more in the region of what you'd expect to pay for a game.

What? I got Lost Coast years back when I bought a pack with HL2, Episode 1, and HL2:Deathmatch.

Alone it's like $40-50. the $200 is the sale price with like 80 DLC packs

I think I got it basically as a freebie with the orange box. (Double check: Yeah, Lost Coast is right there)

Also, doesn't anyone think the graphics on the bus simulator are horrible? I see a lot of simple HUD and single-color textures. Is it a low-price game? I know people aren't really after graphics in that sort of thing but you'd think they could do better than that if the player spends their whole time in the bloody bus.

Also this. It's like someone played desert bus and took it seriously.
Are you kidding, that actually looks kind of fun.  Like a more serious "Crazy Taxi".  The graphics aren't even that bad, not really.

I'm considering emailing this to my electric train diehard great-uncle Bill.

I think I will. I will tomorrow.

You just want a reason to down a shot. You don't need a reason. Bottoms up, mate. But if it's before 10 AM you have to eat an orange or something to balance it out.

Great, the most boring and menial works in mankind turned into 'games'. :3

Don't forget Burger Flipping, Bussing Tables, Lawn Care, and Pet Grooming.

(There's a better example of each of those, I'm sure, but I was doing a quick and dirty google search.  For the last one, my sister had a horse racing game that had you muck stalls, brush down the horse, and a few other "upkeep" tasks).

I've played a couple of similar games and they're more fun than they sound; there's a surprising amount of skill involved, and the long sections where you're just trundling along between stations are quite relaxing. There's usually a fair bit of eye candy scenery-wise as well.

That said, DLC for a game like Railworks should not cost as much as a sodding Hornby model.
