Medieval II: Total War LP

I am getting M:TW2 tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I have decided to play my first game as a Bay12 LP, so I can get tips, you guys can die in hilarious horrible manners, and we can all have shits and giggles.

I have never played Total War before, but I have only heard positive review of it, but can't run Empire, so I'm getting the next best thing.

Any suggestions and advice are more than welcome.

Let's play!

EDIT: I'm getting the Kingdoms expansion, if that changes anything.

Well, the various generals and whatnot will be up for claiming, but not naming. I'll post a map when I can. I plan on using images. What's the best way to get images?

Not 100% sure, haven't LP'd before, but I've got two ideas:

Pause and press Print Screen or Alt+Print Screen, alt+tab, paste in Paint, save, re-enter game.

Or:

Record the thing in video, replay it and take screenshots.

Well if generals are up for claiming can I get one who fights battles useing my personal play style? That is to say, maybe 2 or 3 units of heavy cav, lots of heavy infantry, a few spears for enemy cav, and a few archers, That and he continues battles after they are won, rides down fleeing enemies in a brutal fashion, kills all prisoners, slaughters settlements unless money from looting is needed, and personally fights in battles via charging, staying in the fight for a second or two, retreating, chargeing, etc.

Your choice of nations reminds me of this LP (be warned, this guy wrote a novel). I would love to see some manner of similarly wacky opening gambit here if our esteemed LPer feels comfortable with it.

M2:TW has screenshot taking built in, just press Print Screen and look in the Tgas folder in your M2TW folder, they are in tgas however so you'll have to use paint.net or something to convert them. (Irfanview works best as you can quickly browse the tgas i the folder)

Rome and Medieval 2 are the best total wars. Empires just had something missing and annoying map.

Uniting Russia under the Novgorods are always a fun challenge but you have to win a short campagin to unlock them. Also there are epic mods to that game.
