The Hungarians launched an attack against me right off the bat. Both armies were of at least 1000 men. I delpoyed in a standard formation and we ended up with this:

This resulted in a stalemate while both nations moved in even larger armies, now the bloodshed shall be even greater. Which left me with Milan to fight for a while. Fortunately Venice is a leader in the arms and armour category.

Also, the Byzantine Emperor decided to besiege one of my castles with nothing but his bodyguard. I was too busy going 'WTF Mate?!' to take a screenshot.

I am about to launch a push back against Milan and the Papal restriction against fighting is about to get lifted. Bloodshed ahoy!

Your choice of nations reminds me of this LP (be warned, this guy wrote a novel). I would love to see some manner of similarly wacky opening gambit here if our esteemed LPer feels comfortable with it.

Mmkay, I just wondered, it seemed a little slow compared to others, but I'm still enjoying this.

Spoiler: Fighting Milan (click to show/hide)

Following the capture of Milan, the 'Milanese' decided to try and cut my trade routes. They sent a small force to cut these and the supply lines to my forces that were going to take back Milan. They deployed and I forced a battle just before the reinforcements could arrive. So the battle unfolded in this manner:

Eventually ending up like this.

I fought and crushed their relieving force and then the sortie from Milan arrived, so I engaged it. One generic battle later this happened.

So the final toll was this.

Not bad, all things considered. Also, I got Milan in the bargain. This relatively minor battle left me the undisputed power in northern Italy - again.

This guy was in charge. I think you can guess why I like him.

The Papal restriction finally ended and I promptly launched the assault. They had a few sets of units nearby so they were easy to smash with my massive army.

The rout was complete, leaving them totally destroyed as a fighting force, leaving the path open to Zagreb.

I have more to come soon, but I doubt my interwebs can handle more, I'm lucky I got this many uploaded. Hopefully you'll get a longer one tommorrow.

Mmm, well, I can't think of a better way to do it, unless I cut out the screenshots completely, which would suck, because they give me an easy out of writing quality updates. I should probably try to write better updates anyway, though.

It's always good to try and write better updates. As is, however, yours are pretty good.
