There is no circus in the game. Remove whatever weird mod you have installed if it's a problem.

Yes there is, it's the thing we have to call the circus because people get even more pissy about spoilers if we call it anything else.

Don't be a jerk just for the sake of being a jerk.

Or he really doesn't know it yet....
Anyway it would be nice if they would stop pathing after it has been sealed again.

Why do I suddenly feel the urge to make a mod of actual clowns?!?!
...
...
...
though tbh, if you had a clown civ and a mime civ and they went to war it might be awesome....

what, egg custerd throwers against rope mimers?

dragon mimes anyone?

any way, i think that HFS does need sorting out, probably an option to disable it would be nice.
even if the disable option is removed at a later stage in the game.

FPS problems are from the dozens of demons trying to path to the dwarves every frame and not finding a path, and trying again next frame if you immediately seal the HFS off, I thought.

I've opened up the HFS, cleared out the initial wave, and gotten some of my FPS back before.

It just makes a major hit to your FPS because suddenly you have a large number of constantly repathing creatures taking up simulation time.
It's particularly bad because they're building destroyers, which I'm guessing means that not only are they trying to path to dwarfs, but items as well.

Just edit your worldgen to remove it.

You can also remove caverns if you don't like caverns. By default there will be 3 layers of caverns, a magma ocean, and then hell below the magma ocean. You can remove or adjust any of these in the worldgen settings.

If breaching the HFS kills FPS how about one of these 2 solutions.

1 - Don't breach HFS. Yes that means not mining the clownite. You pays your money, you takes your chances.

2 - The horrendously bugged pathfinding gets fixed so as not to cause FPS death.

Seeing as you can cause FPS death just by playing the game & not even breaching the first cavern layer due to the myriad of 'bugs' in the current build I would suggest #1 is a better choice than waiting for #2

I bursted out laughing so hard at this that my dog woke up, came in the room, and looked at me like I'm an idiot.

Then proceeded to brag about how he has 27 kills on his kill list and is super-doggenly tough.

what kills the fps is walling yourself off, demons work with a different pathing map and will try to path to your fortress even if it's inacessible.

if you let the demons work out their way to your fortress it should give you your fps back, at the expense of your dwarves...

losing is so fucking fun

Unless you have an army of 100 of so master dwarfs ready to beat the crap out of anything that sticks it's head out of hell. I mean a few people have managed to build forts in there, so it is possible, but a bitch to do.

Also, NOOOOOOOO, I dun nay want ma hell ta be tak'n from me!
