How does the ranking system work? What does it use to rank alliances?

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Average Population of each empire in the alliance. Therefor, inviting anyone under our average pop into the alliance actually makes it lower in ranks, and the quickest way to raise ranks is to just sit tight and build up.

Ranks dont mean anything, of course, but they are way too flawed.

Population:1,810,000

Am I doing good yet?
For an isolationist that is.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

18 ships inbound, all 3 days and 6 hours before arrival, with about one second between each ship. Diablotin?

Diablotin attacks happen after probing.
So if he probed you then yeah.

I'm sending a probe over 1000 space map grid units away, I hope it sends back something worth while.

You wont. Send probes to the stars closest to you and move out. All probes uncover is the planets in a star system, and that doesn't help you at all economically. The best use of them is to see where nearby players are and decent planets to be colonized.

That's what the probe is for.
So I can send the excavator after it.

I got that a few times, thought it was my connection though it's now working for me. Now, whenever I try to upgrade my Water Production Plant it says that an upgrade request is already waiting.

EDIT: A refresh seems to have fixed it.

EDIT 2: Seems I got confused between Water Production Plant and Water Reclamation Plant, and the problem is still there. Seems like I'll have a gander at their forums.

It seems this bug is server-wide, so I guess we'll have to wait for the developers to fix it, hopefully soon too.

It's happening to me. Immediately after login, it goes back to the login screen saying "Session expired".

google chrome.
I only have a problem with it sometimes saying something about how an upgrade is already in request, but only on one building I never want to upgrade anyway (shipyard)
