Is there a way to restart if you get a crummy position? Or do I just have to self-destruct and wait 24 hours?

What'll be a crummy position?

I also have no idea why have "isolationist: Yes" on my planet's description. It says on the wiki that i will not expand past my first planet?!
EDIT: Oh dang. Found this at the bottom of the page. "There are 3 ways to lose your Isolationist status (the game client will warn you before you do it)."

Same here. It's actually a colony planet of a larger empire too, which makes me a little nervous.

I've got an embassy up and to level 4 I think, which means I can form an alliance with up to 8 members. I can bring that up to 10 or 12 members pretty easily if we need. Should I start it up and send out invites? What should the name of the alliance be? I'm not feeling very creative with names today.

Huh, the other guy in my system looks like someone who joined then quit. He's only got three medals, although one of them is the Building Level 4 medal, so he might just be hiding them.

EDIT: Looking at the Invite-a-Friend thing, where sending an invite code to sign someone up gets you free Essentia whenever they build a level 4 university makes me think that this guy is just a multi.
