Well we lasted until Day 25 again. We had a tougher map and one less day of scavenging, but ended up with approximately the same number of defensive items (187) as we had last town. Along the way we set a new record for the largest Day 24 attack size ever survived (4594 zombies); a mark which is likely to stand for quite awhile. It was a nice consolation prize for an otherwise disappointing end to the town. I think we all hoped to last a few days longer and crack the 200 defense item barrier.

Sign-ups for the next town will begin on March 28, with a planned launch date of Monday, April 4.

I'm actually curious how much of our inevitable demise was due to the zombie count being unreasonably high, and how much was due to having fewer items from a smaller map.

The news about Season 2 affects our planning for the next town. I was going to start a new thread to discuss the start date, but we might as well do it here. We have two options:

1) Go with the planned sign-up date of March 28, and a launch date of April 4.
2) Delay our next town until April 20.

The deal with Season 2 is that we will get a couple new hero classes, and camping is added. If we start a town before Season 2, it won't count on any leaderboards.

If we start before Season 2, it will count on Season 1 regardless of how long we take.
