James had a lot to think about. For example, were Iscariot and Blight well and truly gone? Well, that much he had had under control, and in Iscariot's case he had actually liked him somewhat; and they were both separately thinking, did this mean they were dead? Nevertheless, though, was his mind whole, or were the two simply resting? And the fungus; the black; if that was dead, he'd be dead, but it was at least dormant, right? James knew all wasn't right in his head, and wondered how strange the incident would make him. And he wondered if it was truly safe to leave.

And then Dom came in, looking, to put it lightly, in significantly better condition than when they had been fighting through this very complex. He sighed, as she laid out the choice, and the apology. "Well, Dom... I think I'll need to go with the Unchained. There's an amount of vengeance on the Technocracy I need; I'm on a mission, now, and the amount of consulting I've done with the psionic remnants of consciousnesses that had been left in my head strengthened that. I've mostly fixed the issue anyway, but.... that wasn't really your fault. The blame for the incident lies in the hands of the Technocracy- they're the ones who I assume injected me with the brain fungus, and who left the first remnant in my mind. You couldn't have known that would happen, and it didn't happen because of you."

Dom sighed and looked down. "Well... guess you gotta do what you gotta do, James." She stepped forward and gave him a hug, whether or not he was expecting it, then stepped to the side to give Tarran one as well before returning to her previous spot, crossing her arms over her stomach. "I'm going to miss you guys. Take care, all right?" She smiled, a bit forlornly. "I'm not going to be around to patch you up, so don't be taking any unnecessary risks."

James started a bit as Dom, in a show of compassion, gave the two hugs. She spoke a few words of advice, and James nodded. "Don't worry, I intend to be careful."

Tarran, struggling to think of something to say, takes his hug stoically. "Thank you Dom," Tarran begins, slowly picking his way through the words, "but, well I don't know quite how to say this... What the fuck happened? I thought you were going to kill yourself trying to save Taric, then a bunch of immortals show up and, instead of shooting, tell us that you're alright. Now you show up, with Taric, and I have no idea what's going on."
Hoke, startled by Tarran's near shouted obscenity, sits up suddenly. He looks blearily at Dom and blinks a couple times. "I was just having this exact same dream, except there was nobody else here, we were both naked, and you were my landlady from back in flightschool. You clean up a nice, kid."
Taric coughs into the ensuing silence. "Well, Hoke's landlady aside, the short answer to your question, Tarran, is that we won. Well, I won, and Dominique helped some too. The Father is gone from this particular facility, and I have supplanted him. Good guys and gal win, bad abominations lose. That's about it." He shrugs. "Now, I'm not going to hug any of you. James because, honestly, you still reek of that rotting pond you went wading through. Tarran, well, we both know that there was something between us, but... it would just be too painful to acknowledge it as we part. I'm sorry." Tarran growls and Sizier smirks. "Anyway, I do have gifts in lieu of hugs. James, I actually did a tiny bit of digging on Technocrat fungal research, and this," Taric says as he produces a small amber bottle from his pocket, "should help you. It's a mixture of fungicide and ORS bacterium, not enough to kill what you've got up there, but, if I got the dosage right, it should be enough to sterilize it and permanently halt its spread." Taric tosses the bottle to James. "Use it in good health. Now, Tarran, I didn't exactly know what to get for you, so I made something rather unique." Taric pauses and reaches into an interior pocket of his uniform, drawing out an unremarkable metal disc. "Mono-pulse broadwave beacon. For one time, and one time only, you can call me. I may not come personally, but I will send what I can spare to help you, and I'll send it as soon as I can," Taric says as he carefully gives the metal disk to Tarran.  "Hoke... I can't say that we always got along, but you look a bit silly without a ship. To you, and in equal parts to James and Tarran, I give the Virtue. I don't have any need of it right now, and I have other, if less expensive, ships." Taric pauses, then cuffs himself on the forehead. "By the way, Dominique, this is Hoke wearing a deadhead," Sizier explains, gesturing broadly at the recently woken, and now quite stunned, clone.
Tarran looks at the metal disc that Taric just handed him, his expression somewhat startled. "I... thanks," he says simply, extending his hand to Taric.
"You're welcome," Taric says as he slowly shakes Tarran's hand, his expression turning a little sad. "Well, any of you kids have anything else to say to each other before I turn you loose?"

"I figured, when I heard him speak." Dom sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Jesus Christ, Hoke. It's never going to happen. When did you ever go to flight school, anyway? You're an AI. I don't even want to know how I remind you of your landlady..." As for Tarran's question, she merely shrugged. "More or less what Taric said. I made a deal. You're free to go back to the Unchained. Just accept it, OK?"

"Hey, I wasn't born learning how to fly! I remember going to class, and I remember my landlady. Though, except for being female, you really aren't much like her. Anyway Dommy, I was a building, then I was ship, and now I'm in the body of clone that I'm pretty sure is as virile as a bag of rocks. I don't think anything's going to happen, but it certainly passes time to think about it." Nathaniel leers at you playfully. "Which reminds me, did you happen to get my books? If I'm going to be trapped on a ship with nothing but other guys, I could use something decent to read."

"Actually, we did get them." Dom turned to Taric. "What did you do with that data drive we had? We should probably give that back to him. And make a copy here for me." She looked back at Hoke. "And dude, don't leer with that dead face. It's creepy as fuck." She slugged him on the shoulder lightly. Hopefully lightly enough to not cause any actual damage.

James takes the amber bottle. "...Thank you, Taric. And, well, to the two of you, goodbye. You two were good traveling companions, and Dom, you're definitely a good person. So... goodbye."

((aaaaand that's about it for the dialogue my mind can conjure.))

Dom nodded. "...Maybe we'll run into each other again. Try to stay alive until then." She looked down so she wouldn't see them leave.

Just stopping by to say have fun, everyone. Make sure to beware the Taric Sizier.

Also be sure to beware the new Myron Sizier, potentially related to Taric Sizier, who might be more insane and dangerous than Taric. Hopefully, though, he hasn't already learned the ways of the Rainbow. If he has... well, you might all be a little bit doomed.

"Last things to say...? Well, I guess I do have one thing to say to you Dom; stay alive, and stay safe. That's an order. We won't be around to save eachother again... at least for a while." Tarran shrugs. "Though honestly, in some ways I don't think it'll be much of a problem for you. The real problem, I think, might be Taric..." He stares at Taric for a second, before looking at the ground and chuckling a little. "Well, at least he isn't as brazen as Hoke. And plus you won't have me shooting you in the back meanwhile." He stops chuckling before looking back up and shaking his head, seemingly ending that line of thought right there and then.

"As for taking risks..." Tarran shrugs. "I'll try and stay alive best I can, but if I see the chance to fix this... monster we call the Technocracy, I don't think I would mind sacrificing myself for the future of, well, humanity." He looks somewhat gloomy, but determined. "But really, if I end up biting the dust, I don't think there's any greater honor than dying for what's right. Try not to feel too sad if that happens."

His face lightens up to a somewhat indifferent state. "As for you, Taric, regardless of what you have in mind now... good luck I guess. I don't know whether what you're planning on doing is going to bring an end to humanity or save humanity, or do some weird combination of both, but you've been a... *cough*'good'*cough* friend, so I don't think I can really wish ill on you regardless. And... try not to go too crazy with that porn mag. Yes, that one... you know which one I mean." With that, Tarran turns around at a moderate speed and begins walking away, semi-intentionally kicking the crumpled MRE with him as he goes.

Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.
